1. This is weak and panicky. "We can't stop kids being on social media when they aren't in school. Let's make this a school problem because tackling things outside school is just too hard for us."

For a start, key aspects of the UK higher education system's funding model are based on assumptions of continued growth of overseas as well as home student numbers that do not take changing economic, geopolitical and demographic dynamics into account

So many on the left seem to either have a basic lack of fundsmental civics education or are just trolls.

Impossible standards and solutions they have zero realisitic path towards.

So instead they stay home and the path somehow gets even more impossible.

put together a short list of media to help children make sense of current events

For all the good announcements, the delays always meant the effects of positive reforms would not be enacted, never mind felt by voters until the end of this Parliament.

As we near the start of a third year in govt, that'll also be the case for any new leader, no matter how expeditious they are.

Taxpayers should not fund any form of religious education. Don’t understand why CofScotland prayers when I was at school was the default position in a modern secular society. If you want to believe in magic fairies and impose arbitrary ethics onto others, do it in the privacy of your own home.

…when we need millions of houses to solve the housing crisis…almost any type of permanent roof over someone’s head, that is safe, warm, dry and always in the same location is better than nothing. A home is fundamental to employment, education, health and self esteem. Better than a cardboard box.

Seems to work in other countries (my old home country one example where higher education is free - you can have a loan for living costs). But the British seem to be allergic to taxes. Higher education for some benefits all.

days/week. We also buy him clothes, food etc whenever he comes home. Without us he would not have the opportunity of further education. It is a real shame as there’s a lot of bright children out there that are condemned due to circumstance and capitalist state policies. They’ll get a bit more in

Having access to digital technologies is important for the households we work with, which is why we are grateful to @goodthingsfdn.bsky.social for donating SIM cards and laptops. This support helps households access online resources and engage with education.

Sucks a lot. When you guys getting thing back on the better way again make sure that the education system get reformed a lot asap.
I see that as 1 of the only ways to prevent a 2nd Trump. Home schooling should be super rare as an example.

I usually don't watch these shows, hits too close to home. I lived with crazy yet very manipulative fundies like this, quoting scripture to justify their abuse.

Ignorant MAGAs freaking out over "consent sexual education" taught in schools to help kids learn what is consent, what is safe or not....

You’ve taken the words right out of my mouth. It can’t be a reason to not suspend a student (who is persistently disrupting others’ education) because they might go on their phone at home. Most schools have internal suspension, we must have a ‘next step up’ for students who persistently defy rules.

Human no entrance

In human trafficking
The prosecution will deny education
Yet the attorney of state will approve education
In defense of home
The child will return

“Would you be willing to give up some of the freedoms you already don’t have in exchange for healthcare, education, home ownership, a shorter workweek, comprehensive labor protections, high speed rail, green energy, and guaranteed retirement?” No bc something something socialism bad

Zero rich kids here.
Zero parents who owned a home, had a job that carried Health Insurance, owned reliable safe cars, or higher education.
In 2008, Nebraska passed a safe-haven law for unwanted children but forgot to set an age limit.
