This was always the problem. The Bush EPA recognized it two decades ago when it tried to dodge issuing an endangerment finding by making non-scientific legal and policy arguments. The court rejected that in Massachusetts. The science is now much stronger.

"lockstep"
"execute"
"deregulation"
Also, plainly untrue.

“OIRA, EPA, & the entire administration are working in lockstep to execute on the President’s deregulation agenda,” said a spokeswoman for the Office of Management and Budget, which oversees OIRA. www.washingtonpost.com/climate-envi...
Trump’s biggest climate rollback stalls over fears it will lose in court
Trump officials have delayed finalizing the repeal of the agency’s “endangerment finding” over concerns the proposal is too weak to withstand a court challenge.

Where I live this is far less problematic than you might imagine. For following reasons:

1) 11 years living here
2) well known resident
3) this is NOT unusual behavior from me
4) Good relationship with local law enforcement
5) CCL where I live makes it perfectly legal

The U.S. has had over 3 times as many people die at the hands of police compared to other countries. There is no doubt that number sky rockets if we include ICE. Not a single officer should have immunity from legal actions. Those who misuse power should not have it, and they deserve consequences.

i'm not sure how strong of a standard deck it would be but this set is still standard legal so it all should be on arena if you wanted to poke at it once you want to throw something together from scratch

I find a good rule of thumb is that if something has to say it's "perfectly legal", it's almost certainly not.

Good introduction to the band, but if you ever get a chance to listen to their debut Barely Legal with its full tracklist then you're in for one of the best punk albums ever

I understand the power of symbolic acts, but it is important to understand that defunding is purely symbolic and would do nothing in terms of stopping the terrorism. On the other hand, forcing ICE to substantially change tactics to legal tactics would protect people in real terms.

Yo NRA!!! They are saying anti gun shit again on the news. They are still trying to blame a legal gun owner for being executed in the streets. I guess Trump is not your guy ?!!

Well, if war can distract from this issue, and no one is going to get the opening of files in a legal way regardless of any war, then so be it, it means that society is not too insistent and demanding.

@chenoweth.bsky.social

First thing to do is to elect small-d democrats. Won't be easy.

Need to be ready w/ legal, protest, noncooperation, communications, nonviolent resistance.

We have the ingredients.

@adamsmith.house.gov is Peter Theil's concubine. Rep Smith is one of the top six recipients of funding from Palantir, the company that feeds data to DHS to target and brutalize citizens and legal residents.

Everything Smith says about his "concern" over ICE is a lie.
This is a tipping point.
- 61% have an unfavorable opinion of ICE (The Argument/Verasight)
- 59% say ICE is too aggressive, up 10 points since July (Fox News)
- 58% say ICE has gone “too far” (Reuters/Ipsos)
- 55% have very little confidence in ICE (YouGov)

They do. I spotted one on the bedroom window yesterday and released it. Hope it’s going to survive. It’s been a tough day but helped immensely by my son and his wife who came with me and interpreted some of the inevitable legal things I must now wade through.

Surely there are plenty of reasons, both moral or legal… I mean, he was a convicted felon who incited rebellion and threatened to be a fascist dictator

But if you think handing the keys of over was right, agree to disagree

At the least, she could have boycotted his coronation…

She's just not very good at this politics stuff. Doesn't have the agility or political instinct to say the genuine societal good of having a highly educated workforce with lots of doctors, nurses, engineers, IT, legal and finance. They have a fetishisation of people getting their hands dirty.

So, am I reading this correctly? A President who has profited $1.4 BILLION off his Presidency in one year is extorting funds off of his MAGA minions who live paycheck to paycheck HIS legal bills?
