The US has a history of interfering in the governments of other countries. The CIA removed a popular democratic Prime Minster of Iran over control of oil in 1953.
Vietnam, Syria, Lybia, Iran, Korea, most of South America all regime changes done by the US for US evonomic interests.

yeah, who would be so dumb and mix some protests, especially MINNEAPOLIS killing of 37-years white mother Renee Good "noo.. no oh god" to "surely Iranian unknown green men"?

I know one, IRA St.Petersburg uses this to create "suddenly opressed minority" in Ukraine,Lybia,GB,Serbia,Syria,Sudan,Georgia

Remember Lybia? The invasion in 2011 to oust Gaddafi left a political power vacuum that still festers today. There has been several military takeovers with no clear winner. I would not be surprised if 47 fixes this other Democrat mess.

Euromaidan, meetings with Iranian monarchists in London... what you do for a living? Where you ever in Venezuela? Iraq? Syria? Lybia? Sudan? Somalia? Lebanon?
Anyways, monarchists are a minority, probably a bit more in the diaspora but still. And of all people britons should comment Iran cautiously.

It would seem like a form of investment by the US in the future of the country which ranks third by oil reserves.

It is worrying to me that, according to the same index, Canada ranks fifth, and not far from Iran.

Let's just take a few examples of how many times NATO nations have partnered in joint military operations: Bosnian War, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lybia.
Trump is a world class idiot.

Unable to understand there is no difference between Lybia, Syria, Iraq and Venezuela.

The Nobel peace prize is B.S. the man who it is named after invented dynamite. Most of the winners are not peaceful.
Obama won it while he was bombing seven Muslim countries. And he and killary destroyed Lybia.

China thriving, Vietnam rising

Now imagine what would happen if Venezuela and Cuba didn't have US interference

Or Chile, Lybia, Afghanistan, Jugoslavia, USSR, etc.

(Yes the USSR as well, forced to spend half their efforts fighting a propaganda war, because some rich dumbfucks didn't accept it)

As Jeffrey Sachs claims this is part of us playbook not saying things a rosy but think Syria, Lybia... They wanted this to happen in Venezuela but government too smart had seen this before.

All coups of the USA had a bad outcome for the population (he even forgot Lybia on his list).
January 9, 2026 at 3:36 AM
Apart from Serbia there's also defending Assad ("fun" fact, Assad's government forces killed more Syrian civilians than every other faction in the civil war, COMBINED), and describing Lybia as a regime change operation when the intervention was limited to support for an existing rebellion.
January 8, 2026 at 7:05 PM
Hmm apparently not in Venezuela, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia, Palestine, and i guess the list is much longer! But yes i agree with "Good luck to the people of Iran" those people are going through hell since years and not only because of their regime but also because of International failure.

Lybia no fue destruida en el S.XX, el EUR no está fijado al Franco CFA en el S.XX, la constitución española no fue modificada a exigencia de la UE en el S.XX, Grecia no fue expoliada por Alemania en el S.XX (bueno, también...)
January 8, 2026 at 12:50 PM
By who, the same people that judged the intervention in lybia? I guess they considered it a success because there has been no repercussions.
January 8, 2026 at 11:48 AM
It's the same legislation President Obama used to attack Lybia to oust Gaddafi it was also the justification used to violate Pakistans sovereignty to conduct the raid that killed bin Laden.

Not saying I agree with it, but there is legislation allowing it.
January 8, 2026 at 2:30 AM
Actually there isn't! The war powers legislation on the books gives the President a set amount of time to brief Congress after the fact. I don't like it, but it is the lame legislation President Obama used to attack Lybia and for the raid on Bin Laden's compound in Pakistan.

Not sure you'd be able to defend imperialistic case about Lybia either. It was a country ran by a dictator that had his hands in more coups you can count.

The intervention was UN sanctioned and NATO pulled immediately. No further control over Lybia was exerted. Lybia is split between factions.
January 7, 2026 at 8:00 PM
The Lybian civil war started just before the US intervention as a part of the Arab spring. Obama intervened together with the UN, Ghaddifi was a brutal dictator but now countries like Russia and Turkey are trying to get influence in Lybia by supporting different factions
