#snowpocalipse
Damn, yes, we’re in Texas. Our winters are definitely mild, but can be scary. Like 2021 some beekeepers were reporting 90% losses with that snowpocalipse we had. Nobody was expecting that!
I watch that Canadian Beekeeper guy’s youpube videos and that winter storage shed he has is amazing and brutal!

Well the Midwest Snowpocalipse thankfully dudded out for Iowa. Just a little dusting but stupid cold temps. Currently 20 with 11 wind chills. But hey, we’re staying above 0 for the next few days so that’s something LOL

Timely, given the forecast. If you are in the path of the snowpocalipse, get your storm chips and plan to stay put for a bit.
On this day in 1998, an ice storm developed over southern Ontario and Quebec.
The storm left millions without power, killed 34 people and caused $5-7 billion in damages.
Let's learn more about the Ice Storm of 1998.

The image sharing website Imgur runs one.

The entire country of Aotearoa/New Zealand runs one.

@wombat37.bsky.social also used to run one and it was a thing of love and beauty.

† I must have been involved there once. I have the Snowpocalipse‡ badge.

I've listened to Dan Patrick in person up close. Could not be in the same party. Spouted "nobody wants to work anymore" bs when asked about our local prison staffing crisis, and went all "hurr durr windmills evil" when questioned about snowpocalipse (which was a natural gas power catastrophe)
