2 mediocre photos I took of the Louis Paul Jonas Studios maquette for the 1964 World’s Fair life size Struthiomimus. Subsequently toured the US, and some museums still have casts of it. Not precisely accurate now, but the full size one’s absolutely a convincing real-looking animal.

Even before she announced what is frequently described as a “longshot” bid for the Democratic gubernatorial nod, Hong was traveling the state, recruiting and campaigning for legislative candidates, speaking at local events for county Democratic parties and progressive groups, and rallying activists on behalf of economic, social and racial justice. Hong’s tireless approach to politics has also been reflected in her legislative agenda. Though she has served three terms in the Legislature as a member of the Democratic minority, the Madison Democrat has been ambitious and often visionary. Introduced two years ago, before most Democrats recognized that their party was losing support because of its failure to adequately address what’s come to be known as “the affordability crisis,” Hong was on the case. Her legislation was written in recognition of the fact that, “Nobody should have to choose between paying their bills and taking care of their health or family.” We do believe that Hong’s approach has been notable. Her legislation attracted support from 25 Democratic representatives and 10 state senators... when it was introduced. And it continues to be discussed as a model plan by Wisconsin activists who have worked on family and medical leave issues.

White dwarf pulls He from neighbor star causing dwarf-surrounding explosion…

Seeing of double trouble •17183 The supernova in this new study-SNR 0509-67.5-is roughly 160,000 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Dorado. The astronomers describe a new image they took with data from the ESO's VLT that proves this hunch about double explosions was correct. Some Type la supernovae explode through a "double-detonation" mechanism rather than just one. In this new model, the white dwarf forms a blanket of stolen helium around itself. Helium is a chemical element that can become unstable and ignite. If that happens, the initial explosion generates a shockwave that travels around the white dwarf and inwards. This triggers a second detonation in the core of the star, which ultimately forms the supernova. Previously, there has been no clear, visual evidence of a white dwarf undergoing a double detonation. Astronomers have predicted that this process would create a distinct pattern or fingerprint seen in the supernova's still-glowing remains. They theorized that this clue would be visible long after the initial explosion, partially because the remnants of such a

I’ve never used an iPad for art, but I’ve been traveling a lot and I’m thinking it could come in handy. I normally draw on an XP Pen 24 Pro (or an old Cintiq 13HD if I’m on the road, but it’s not very ergonomic)

Text from a KPTV story about a fatal car crash that reads: "According to OSP, the preliminary investigation indicated a BMW X3, driven by Autumn Breeze Willis of Beaverton, was traveling west in the eastbound lanes when it struck Flood’s Tesla Model Y. Even stranger, some of the cameras aren't even the same model that Evanston is contracted for. All 18 cameras were previously the "Falcon" model, a longer, oval-shaped cam with a solar panel. But 5 spots now have this stubbier model that may take wired power through a cable into the lightpole.

The west coast model might be good eventually, but as of right now, folks in Oregon are crossing into Washington to get vaccinated (myself included). When I went Thursday the pharmacist in Vancouver, WA told me some Oregonians are traveling 2 hrs (each way) to see them.
