Swansea RFC board claim they've had no contact from the WRU or Y11 over their plan to merge them with the Ospreys at the end of next season.

"To be absolutely clear, this is the first time the Board has been made aware of any such proposal. We are unanimous in our opposition to the suggestion."
Also worth noting that the WRU's plan is for the Ospreys is to merge with Swansea RFC in Super Rygbi Cymru after next season, so they can act like they haven't destroyed the club.

For fans of other Welsh teams, I would be very wary of them establishing this as something that is allowed to happen.
Swansea Council have launched legal action against the WRU claiming "anti-competitive and unlawful" conduct by the union and claiming the decision to make Y11 Cardiff's preferred bidder was a "clear conflict of interest".

I'm so fucking tired of all this.

Y10 Games in the rain after yesterday’s unusual sunny day for Y11

Imagine Y11 owning the two largest city clubs effectively controlling an area containing a majority of welsh clubs and players. What other union would sign up to that thinking there would be no devil to pay in the near future

Ospreys fans are naturally directing their ire at Lance Bradley and the faceless Y11, but it's worth remembering who's behind it all.

Five years ago James Davies-Yandle told us: "I'm passionate about the area, I love the Ospreys brand and my dad played for Swansea…"

He is the real villain here.

A “super region” from a Scarlets-Ospreys merger could be quite the force with all that rugby talent from Bridgend to Carmarthen, but this is not the way to go about achieving that team. The way the WRU and Y11 have conducted themselves is disgraceful and a betrayal to ospreys fans

The Valencia trip has landed! The Y11 Spanish students will have the opportunity to visit the historic cities on the east coast of Spain and to enhance their learning experience of the language.

At the end of the day, Bradley is an employee of Y11. I'm not saying that I like what is getting on or the way that he has conducted himself, but he is literally their employee.

Yes No question for WRU, Y11 and Ospreys.

Will there be a fully professional rugby club based full time in Swansea after the 26/27 rugby season for a long period? 5+ years at least.

Lance Bradley is a coward, should be doing everything he can to protect the Ospreys, not folding to the WRU and Y11.

My Y11 do this to help remember random vocabulary items.
We wrote stories today and substituted some words to a language of our choice. Some fantastic stories and excellent efforts!

Where are you getting that?

The only thing that’s happened under Y11 to my knowledge was Ealing offering themselves to any club in the URC that the media spun into some nonsense merger chat.

All the other mad shit was pre-Y11 when the club was as financially fucked as the Scarlets are now.
February 4, 2026 at 7:36 PM
Y11 have tried to sell the Ospreys three times. If the Cardiff purchase doesn’t go through, it’ll almost inevitably be four when they look, again, elsewhere.
February 4, 2026 at 7:30 PM
Y11 had no interest in getting out before the WRU created a situation that was obviously stacked against them - wouldn’t have spent a bunch of wasted money on the St Helens redevelopment otherwise.

Impossible to see how they can remain even if the Cardiff thing falls through now though.

should take responsibility and ownership of their maths book. A downside to this is the books can look scruffy around the edges. I agree with you about thinking it is important that the students are proud of their books. Taking EOY exams out of books will make them less unwieldy. Y11 books are huge!
February 4, 2026 at 7:25 PM
Agree. West/Central/East (Cardiff is east)
Can’t see it being stopped, though. Also, Y11 obviously want out so if it is stopped, will they bugger off?
February 4, 2026 at 7:25 PM
Nothing to suggest he would be coming to Cardiff with Y11 at all, but just to confirm that Lance Bradley is unwelcome at the Arms Park.

All credibility in the bin. On the barred list.
February 4, 2026 at 7:23 PM
Just wondering (and I don’t want the Ospreys to go) but where is the anti-competitive claim? It’s Y11 abandoning the Ospreys not the WRU folding them. If Y11 do go to Cardiff, there’s no competition to get to 3 teams.
February 4, 2026 at 7:04 PM
No action by Swansea CC could force Y11 to keep funding and running the Ospreys so whilst I applaud what they are doing legally it is doomed.
February 4, 2026 at 5:59 PM
Genuinely unfathomable decision making going on here from Y11 and WRU, the lunatics run the asylum there clearly

I’m not sure how Y11 could continue as the owners if this happened.
February 4, 2026 at 4:50 PM
Swansea Council have released the minutes of their meeting with the WRU and Y11. It should shock absolutely no-one, but the WRU (of course) lied to the public, while telling the council that the Ospreys had no viable future.

Call the EGM now, RCK, Tierney, and their stooge Reddin have got to go.
February 4, 2026 at 4:41 PM
Let’s say Swansea council legally force Y11 and the WRU to keep the Ospreys going (which would be game changing for sport as a whole)

Then what? Are they spending £5m of public money building a ground for a team that just broke the law? Who is signing that off?
That’s some sh*t.
