@maryltrump.bsky.social is finding The Good In Us and so it’s an apt title for her amazing Substack.

She joins me to talk politics, humor, how to beat Donald, and when giving up actually makes sense.

The condescension of two-bit Attorney General Pamela Jo Bondi today underscores that the only thing this administration excels at is a complete lack of self-awareness.

The House speaker claims this has nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Then why delay the swearing in of Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva, who handily won a special election in Arizona *two weeks* ago?

He can easily prove it. trib.al/pl4anhF

Never before in American history has one state's military force been deployed in another state over its objection.

I say never because the Civil War involved states whose governments legally ceased to exist, their offices vacated by constructive resignation, with no legitimate governors to object.

“Federal agents are committing state felonies every day. Breaking and entering. Kidnapping. Assault. When they kick down doors without judicial warrants, when they detain citizens without probable cause, when they point guns at children, these are crimes under state law" cmarmitage.substack.com

“So when ICE breaks down a door with only administrative paperwork that’s burglary under California Penal Code 459. When they haul away citizens without probable cause that’s kidnapping under Penal Code 207. When they point weapons at unarmed families that’s assault under Penal Code 245”

Let me be clear: It’s ILLEGAL to deny federal workers back pay after a shutdown.

There’s a 2019 law that guarantees it, but Trump is once again trying to break the law.

You don’t get to punish people for doing their jobs just because you’re failing at yours.

After the shutdown during the 1st Trump admin, Congress passed a law to guarantee back pay for furloughed workers.

That bill was signed into law by Donald Trump.

Workers will be paid.

This chaos is a distraction from Trump's failure to secure a deal to lower health care costs.

It's not just that they're going to strike down a law against conversion therapy, it's that they're going to do it on behalf of made-up claims from a straw plaintiff who can't honestly show the law affected her at all

One thing about American's widespread distrust and disapproval of the Supreme Court is that mainstream news coverage mostly doesn't dwell on stuff like standing, so people don't even begin to grasp how rigged the Court truly is www.nytimes.com/live/2025/10...

What's happening in Chicago is not normal.

The arrest of Alderperson Fuentes is just the latest example of how far Noem and Bovino are willing to go to ignore the rule of law. We must all speak up.

Feel free to attribute the following to a former OMB General Counsel: The supposed "new legal analysis" is, to use a technical legal term, horseshit. What the law actually says is that when Congress enacts a law ending a lapse, furloughed employees get paid at the earliest date possible. Period.
atrupar.com
Johnson: "It's true that in previous shutdowns, many or most furloughed employees have been paid for the time they were furloughed, but there is new legal analysis - I don't know the details, I just saw a headline - but there are some legal analysts saying that might not be appropriate or necessary"
