Let me be clear:
I have ZERO patience for nihilism about our current affairs.
ZERO.
I WILL call you out for that sort of attitude and I will lay down the fire on your ass.
You’re free to think it. I’m free to call it out.
Deal with it.

I have long said that those who have the core belief that government is bad are going to wind up being bad at governing and the GOP has yet to prove me wrong on that.

Also how much the possibility space is being opened up. I think a lot of Reagan-era shibboleths are getting torched in public as we speak, and I think one that will be torched in the next few years is the government-is-the-problem bullshit the GOP likes to spout.

If they do a “final say” via a shadow docket ruling, treat it as non-final and keep bringing them case after case that differ only by the spelling of the parties’ names.

Who was president in 2020?

Senate Rs spent hours Wed insisting a Biden Censorship Regime was in power.

It’s ridiculous on its face—but dangerous in its purpose.

If you can convince people of that lie, you can justify what Trump is doing now. It’s “just payback”.

My thinking on this is that we’re at a point where we’re gonna get an open rebellion from the lower courts against scotus.
Idk what that would look like, but this is not sustainable

More judges speak to the press (the NYT) about what a disaster the Supreme Court (specifically the shadow docket) has been - “incredibly demoralizing & troubling”; a “judicial crisis”; a “slap in the face to district courts.” www.nytimes.com/2025/10/11/u...

The message must be "No bailouts for billionaires." AI is not too big to fail. And should it fail, the richest men in the world should be held accountable and take responsibility for their failures.

I think the Democrats need to start making the likely AI crash an issue right now. It has everything they need, and unlike the "boys in girls' sports" issue, it is actually rooted in reality.

He loves it. Homocons like Reid don’t believe they are entitled to marriage. And they want to force the rest of us to comply with their Christo-fascist delusions.

You know what? That is a good question. How does the GOP Lt. Gov nominee John Reid (who is gay) feel about Winsome Sears saying preventing gay people from getting married and firing gay people from their jobs for being gay is not discrimination?

I completely agree. And I think the reason they are shocked is because they assumed that the party making demands always loses. But in past shutdowns the GOP demands were unpopular. Here, the Dems demands are very popular.

It turns out that the GOP lost the messaging battle in past shutdowns not because they demanded a certain policy, but because they demanded an *unpopular* policy.

Dems have the upper hand now because they've made it about the ACA which is - wait for it - popular!

Yeah sure a few of YOU guys shared this and that’s great. Thanks. But honestly lib reposts just aren’t doing it for me anymore. I’ll have you know this wisdom of mine was also reposted by a (self proclaimed!) tankie account along with a YouTube video of (not kidding) Enver Hoxha. I have arrived.

Q: How many layoffs have you authorized?

TRUMP: It'll be a lot. And it'll be Democrat-oriented.

I’ve become convinced partly that the media is taking a “let Trump’s lies speak for themselves because they’re so stupidly outrageous”
But even if that’s the case it’s lazy & and abdication of their duties.

Rank-and-file Republicans are getting antsy with their 'leadership' over the shutdown.

They know they are losing the messaging battle.

They don’t seem to understand the worse the lie is, the harder it is to believe, and the more obviously they project how actually dire his health is.
They NEED him to stay alive until at least January 2027, or their ambitions for a full decade of Vance (or whoever) are squashed

I’m willing to bet the “actual” reason was the game itself simply wasn’t coming together for its enormous price tag and they’re blaming “woke” as a convenient excuse.
