Let me be clear:
I have ZERO patience for nihilism about our current affairs.
ZERO.
I WILL call you out for that sort of attitude and I will lay down the fire on your ass.
You’re free to think it. I’m free to call it out.
Deal with it.

My mom told her physical therapist she wears a mask because her husband and daughter are immunocompromised. The PT said she is too but isn't worried bc she knows if she dies she is going to heaven. Then her co-worker yelled, “Shut up Debbie you wear a seatbelt and take blood pressure meds” 👀

You're not going to impeach this president unless you elect a shit ton more Democrats. And bitching about Democrats everyday on social media and with every breath you take isn't going to get you what you want. Also if they tried repeatedly, like they have, and you're still suggesting it shut up.

Republicans have never liked poor people but this set is just ballooned off its own tits on its own propaganda and helping to usher in a 2026 Blue Tsunami the likes we have not seen in this lifetime.
i continue to think that the republican pivot to affordability puts them on uniquely unfavorable terrain for them

Okay, this worked on paper, in the abstract and so on and so forth because like so much Trumpworld shit the actual making of the project is beset by things like Jackie Chan is in his 70s and this is an action film.
It’s been obvious we’re in the dumbest timeline for a while, but we’re going to next level. The President of the United States has expended time and energy to get a new instalment of his favourite nineties film franchise, Rush Hour, a buddy cop series with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. It worked.
‘Rush Hour 4’ revived after Trump urged Paramount Skydance to resurrect franchise, reports say
Studios initially declined a fourth movie over concerns around director Brett Ratner, whose career crashed after sexual misconduct allegations he denies.

Art. I of the Constitution gives Congress the power to make rules and regulations for the armed forces — including codes of discipline and strictures against following illegal orders. You can’t punish members of Congress for articulating those rules. Also protected by Speech and Debate Clause.

every single thing hegseth says in public reveals a bottomless pit of insecurity
When you draw a platoon leader like Hegseth, it’s your worst nightmare. You just ride it out until he’s gone and gets replaced by someone who isn’t a complete jackass. Only a fool like Trump would put one of them in charge of the entire defense department.

I had a convo re: "bullshitting" as a rhetorical act w my Friday class & I pointed out that Trumps bullshitting works *great* when he's out of power bc its unfalsifiable but when he's in power its actually p hard to get ppl to not believe whats in front of them that they hold you responsible for.
Trump’s messaging on this is really really starting to resemble his efforts to will people into believing that COVID cases weren’t increasing early in 2020

While at the same time attempting to ramp up said legal warfare. It's the fundamental "there are four people running the government and they're all insane rabid racoons fighting in an overcoat" problem where you can't blow up state capacity and then try and use the state to go after people!

Something that I would note is that the Trump administration is doing something really self sabotaging right now, in that it's removed the professionalism and actual bodies necessary to pursue large scale legal warfare against their foes (Lindsey Halligan and Aline Habba? Really?)

The single biggest problem of the Trump administration is that an authoritarian government REQUIRES MORE PEOPLE, NOT LESS.

You can't fire 12% of workforce and then go "Huh, lets use the state to crush all dissent! Brilliant!"
