You know, when your ideology is predicated upon an understanding of historical cycles, showing that you don’t understand basic history really undermines your ability to persuade people.

This is pure derangement.

The US never fought to end fascism anywhere. They joined the war because Japan forced their hand, and they saw a great way to make money. After the USSR pretty much had pushed Germany out of eastern Europe and they knew the nazis were going to lose, they jumped in.

If they want to govern like Article I isn't real and Trump is just a sovereign monarch, let them govern without any of the mechanisms of Congress.

Again:
1) If the RIFs are illegal, "We are going to divert appropriated funds to pay Da Troops" is double mega illegal, and that actually matters.
2) The military's payment system is so baroque I'm not sure it's even possible to do this
3) They just keep blowing up their own leverage.

If this is true then the administration stands on failing legs and the GOP is going to learn what heads on a pike look like at the end of it.

These people want to reform the administrative state, tear out benefits and do eugenics, and racially remake the countries population.

There is no deliverism here, it's raw transformational politics. There will never be carrots, it's just sticks all the way down.

I understand the optics here but this is also literally why Charles met his end in Whitehall, either Article I means what it says or it doesn't and the Constitution is dissolved

So the Dems need to be clear again that any FMer carrying out direction to implement mil paychecks in the absence of appropriations will be subject to anti-deficiency act criminal penalties, because to be clear even with the reconciliation slush fund BS there is no way to legally so this, period

‘TRON: ARES’ has earned $14.3M in its opening day at the domestic box office.

For comparison, ‘MORBIUS’ opened to $17.3M.

There are many a NYT employee who needs to enjoy a long stretch in prison along with the rest of the collaborators.
davidcorn.bsky.social
A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.
shardshinjuku.bsky.social
Yes indeed, thankfully nobody actually listens to them so far.
shardshinjuku.bsky.social
I have long said that those who have the core belief that government is bad are going to wind up being bad at governing and the GOP has yet to prove me wrong on that.
seed-corn-thoughts.bsky.social
Also how much the possibility space is being opened up. I think a lot of Reagan-era shibboleths are getting torched in public as we speak, and I think one that will be torched in the next few years is the government-is-the-problem bullshit the GOP likes to spout.
shardshinjuku.bsky.social
Maybe an unpopular take but I am glad that goofy ass Ass Creed isn't tackling this subject matter.
shardshinjuku.bsky.social
More proof that MAGA need to be hunted down with an army of velociraptors. Also, they are not going to spark a reverse Kimmiel with three year old events.

Paul Ingrassia is now threatening to sue Politico:

“This vexatious political attack masquerading as "journalism" is defamatory and will be addressed in forthcoming litigation.”
October 10, 2025
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Re: Statement on behalf of my client Paul Ingrassia regarding last night's story, Key Trump nominee accused of sexual harassment, POLITICO (Oct. 9, 2025), https://www.politico.com/news/2025/10/09/ingrassia-trump-harassment-dhs-

POLITICO's hit piece about Mr. Ingrassia is calculated to cause maximum harm to his promising career — and torpedo his nomination for Special Counsel. This vexatious political attack masquerading as "journalism" is defamatory and will be addressed in forthcoming litigation.
To be 100% crystal clear, so that there is zero room for doubt: Mr. Ingrassia did not engage in any wrongdoing in connection with the matters reported. As POLITICO itself reported: "The woman, whom POLITICO is not naming, said in a statement that she 'never felt uncomfortable' about Ingrassia's behavior and said she had never made a complaint." This is one of the only accurate parts of POLITICO's otherwise fantastical and fictional partisan fairy tale.
Accordingly, one last time, I call upon POLITICO to publicly apologize and issue a full retraction of this disgraceful and partisan sludge.
