I say this not to valorize the founders or exempt any of the past and ongoing harms of the US but to simply note that the constitutional order is failing despite being structured specifically to avoid this exact problem, now broken by two whole branches of Salacious Crumbs en thrall to a Jabba.

Yeah this seems accurate. Some sort of return numbers and the need for a tent pole of some kind, divorced from whether anyone really cares or remembers any of it. This made me chuckle

Pretty confused by how TRON became a big-budget movie franchise. Was it a bit hit when it came out? No. Did it become a big hit on video/TV? Also no. Do people have fond nostalgic memories of it? Eh kinda but not really. Was it secretly great and critically acclaimed? No again

To refine this slightly: the original was fine, if a flawed and somewhat silly sci-fi flick. But it doesn't have any loadbearing ideas that would make it right for endless cashgrab sequels
