i would love to get another job, but by the time i'm out of there at the end of the day, i just don't have the energy to search. dealing with upper management in any capacity at my workplace is soul-crushing on a level i cannot begin to describe, and i have to deal with them on a daily basis 🙃

i don't think i saw a single volunteer all weekend. there were staffers, people helping do tech checks at panels and all that, but no volunteers. it's possible that they just happened to be around only when i wasn't nearby, but it still struck me as odd

there was a frankly startling lack of badge checks at nebkon 2025. it would have been so easy to ghost this con. i didn't see a single person badging panel doors or the vendor hall door the entire weekend long, and one of the panels before one of mine was 18+ but nobody was carded before entry 😬
