I mean it's not like I can't work around it, it's just that I'd rather not have a bunch of magic-number-delays in my code because of a mystery quirk!

Is there a way I can actually test for the level properly, fully loading? Is there something to do with the level subsystems, maybe?

Weird #UnrealEngine / @unrealengine.bsky.social #GameDev #Programming quirk that I kinda need to understand ...

If I "Get All Actors of Class" after loading a streaming level, then it takes around 1s *after* OnLevelLoaded before the objects in the new level register.

Anyone know what's up?

Yes, you can isolate the top vertices of a cylinder and rotate them relative to the world rotation of the cylinder for a very cheap fake water level!

Not sure why you'd ever do this but hey - it can be done!

I use the idea of "yes, and ..." when talking about brainstorming, it's good for learning the difference between building on ideas and cutting them down.

Potentially hot take, but this isn't an AI problem, this is a civil rights problem. If it weren't AI, these companies would be fucking people over in another way. The problem is the lack of defence of the right to live without companies choking the air out your lungs and ruining the world around you
