To summarize. If Trump wanted to send Ukraine Tomahawks, he could right now. If Trump wanted to sanction Russia, he could right now. If Trump
wanted to seriously bolster Ukrainian air defense against Russia drones/missiles, he could right now. But he’s not, so he doesn’t want to.

CDC/etc are not about petabytes of data. It's about giving govt a recommendation what to do when shit hits the fan. CDC was one of the best because it was US' and thus had high intl respect and authority. Intl politicians felt forced to follow their advice ("if it's good for US, then...").

Good point, but don't forget China has already went thru all those petabites of CDC open data, established complete digital monitoring of everything those CDC scientists do, and at this point is already trying to RECRUIT those fired scientists directly or via research projects in 3rd countries.

Russian drones hit a regional electricity company's vehicles in rural northern Ukraine on Fri as it tried, in a heavy rain, to restore power after previous RU strikes, and then first responders on scene.

2 electricians got killed, 3 hospitalized - district military governor.

Literally a war crime.

The last time the electricity supply disruption in Kyiv was this bad was on November 16, 2022, when it rained for days, as it is now.

Clearly, Russians time their terror attacks on Ukraine's electrical grid to coincide with the worst possible weather conditions for repairs and overall public mood.

UPDATE: after Fri night Russian terror airstrike, my Kyiv apartment survived the 2nd longest blackout so far: ~11 hrs without electricity.
Uitility workers, the Titans they are, never allowed cold water supply to dry, but my broadband ISP had lost its back up power after ~8 hours.
