Welcome!
I expanded here from the original Twitter, where I've been under the SAME handle👇 for 11 years now.
Will be at both places for a while.

Sane adults need choice and B plans. Monopoly is bad. Monopoly of a drug addict treasonous oligarch is a danger to us all.
*This was at least 10th time Russians purposely targeted a major, clearly civilian storage of retail-packaged food, hygiene products or medicine in Ukraine since Feb 2022.
Among the "military" targets of last night's Russian missile strike on Kyiv was a state-of-the-art storage hub of the Novus supermarkets chain. You know, strategic stockpiles of confectionery, Pumpers and bananas.

Four truckers staying with their vehicles (rather than in bomb shelter) got killed.

Multi-angle video of the Russian air defense interceptor missile going astray and hitting apartment block in south RU (apparently in Novorossiysk or Sochi) last night.

I recall like dozen of such videos since 2014. RU air defense missiliers appear to be extremely careless and using faulty missiles.

I'm lucky to have caught few hours of sleep between two Russian missile strikes on Kyiv.
Enjoying my cinnamon coffee in my shelter now.

How's your morning?

The tragicomical highlight of the night is Russian air "defense" in south RU: carelessly shooting machine guns basically at the city's apartment blocks, and than hitting one of them with a stray interceptor missile.

Also check out the RU idiot filming the shower of tracer bullets coming at him.

The ongoing Russian airstrike on Ukraine "is targeting the energy infrastructure"; "energy professionals will begin assessing the damage and making repairs as soon as the security situation allows", Ukraine Energy Ministry posted just now.

Ukraine capital Kyiv is under a combined Russian airstrike involving ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, UA Air Force advises.

There were about a dozen very loud explosions.

City authorities report isolated disruptions of electricity and water supply.

From a military strategy POV, a "peace" with Russia is even less acceptable for non-nuclear NATO states than it is for Ukraine: while RU economy is slowly hopelessly dying, its conventional WEAPONS steadily get better.

It's really a "decisively defeat Russia" vs. "surrender to RU unconditionally"🤷‍♂️

It's only logical that the Russian envoy actively trying to bribe Trump administration (while occasionally bullying California and Britain on X) started out as fraudulent developer in the country whose freedom he's trying to buy from Trump.
Most know Kirill Dmitriev as the Russian president’s envoy. But to more than 200 investors in Ukraine, he is known for taking part in a Kyiv real estate project that ended in a fraud and criminal case. Using articles from 2011, I was able to find more details. 🧵Thread:

At least two members of the US negotiating team at the CENTURY'S MOST IMPORTANT PEACE TALKS are biased pro-Kremlin (and incompetent).

None of the rest is an expert on Russia or Ukraine (the chief of US mission is unexperienced; Gen. Grynkewich's potential expertise only comes from his grandfolks).
Baker is Deputy NSA & a Vance person. Here's a story about his meeting with pro-Ukraine constituents from Ohio in 2024. A participant said:
"I would go as far as to describe [Baker] as kind of a mouthpiece of the Kremlin. He just offered up Russian propaganda over and over again."

Seems bad.

Like Trump, but worse. How activists were persuading JD Vance to support Ukraine
JD Vance is a fierce opponent of aid to Ukraine, but his Ukrainian American constituents attempted to change this stance.

We are in a bizarre moment of diplomatic history. The purported "peace plan" that appeared a few days ago begins in Russian unreality and American weakness. Demanding everything of Ukraine and nothing of Russia, its purpose is imperialism and profiteering.

So a bunch of people who want enormous financial bribes from Russia bypassed the man who REMAINS both Secretary of State and National Security Advisor to capitulate to Russia.

Then he got the backing of key Senators, and with it, tried, once again, to prevent the total capitulation by the US.

I don't see the X's revelation of foreign-based accounts MASS-posing as Americans trending here.
Many BlueSky users love to hate fellow Americans (rather than seeing most of them as brainwashed victims), wet-dream about revolution / civil war and, crucially, DENY the obvious foreign hybrid invasion.
