Sounds like if you are in the military, we just paid you a bonus of almost two grand.
And why? What did our military accomplish in 2025? We're not even in any conflicts. Bombing some fisherman means all million of you get a bonus?
My "All the swords pointing at Flynn Rider" take is that this country gives half a fuck about anything only when it's about Support Our Troops, but they shouldn't, Our Troops are worthy of the equal respect given to all other citizens. No special privileges.
MAGAZINER: A hardworking man w/no criminal record who raised 3 sons to be Marines -- ICE agents tackled him while he was mowing lawn & imprisoned him. Will you consider him for parole?

Apropos of nothing, my relatives got fiber internet at their place north of Buhl last year. Good for them, I mean they already had cable and OTA options despite living on a dirt road with 5 homes per mile.
I just returned from a hearing to conduct oversight of the FCC.

We should be focusing on expanding broadband access.

But Chairman Carr has used his position to threaten free speech.

I asked whether attacking political speech is OK. His answer is alarming.

"Are Clinton’s Bombs Wagging the Dog?

Coming three days after the president’s unsatisfying apology to the nation, and on the same day as Monica Lewinsky’s return to the grand jury, the U.S. military strikes Thursday in Afghanistan..."

My kids love this story, two years now. Santa as a magical force that just does nice things is pretty uninteresting at almost any age.

The story of someone mean that learns their lesson to become kind has universal appeal. It fits the spirit of Christmas.

Santa, paradoxically, does not!

One of my pandemic hobbies involved learning to use Linux and it was torture. And 99% of the advice you'll find online is "that thing you're asking isn't what you want".

Something cool about Google maps for the past few years is that every dropship business being ran out of the basement shows up labeled marked in the residential address it's registered to.

So as you navigate around the blocks you can get crowded popups for golf shops and financial consultants!

Not really the lesson of this story but I'm always amazed at how much energy and effort go in to municipal government and the project of solely, thanklessly, maintaining the status quo.
