im rewatching The Shining for the millionth time and while i think the book does some things better (getting us into Jack's head) the book is a story about a good man swallowed by ghosts and Kubrick's story is about a family annihilator, and thus much, much scarier

When I left my pediatrics unit, they spray painted the tiniest 2.5mm tracheostomy cannula gold and gave it to me at my last report, cause I'd been one of the primaries all but one of the new trach cases for 5 yrs.

Super moving.

Unfortunately they didn't seal it, and now it looks tetanus friendly.
