Same? No. Similar? Yes. I don’t know why that would be confusing. I think it’s entirely reasonable for people to wonder why the club bought a player who had an obvious strength to his game and be deployed in a way that doesn’t make the most of that ability.

The Scottish Green Party just voted to reject the legitimacy of the EHRC as the British equalities regulator following the decision to override the Equalities Committee to install the new chair Mary-Ann Stephenson.

In the whole half century period since the dictator Idi Amin's expelled migrants in 1972, can anybody identify any *democratic* government at all that has stripped past grants of permanent residence from a large number of legal migrants & removed/expelled them?
The thing about the Overton window is that it just shifts by default if you let people propose insane policies like removing people with indefinite leave to remain without robust challenge. It doesn't just go away, it slowly leaks into the mainstream water supply unless you properly hose it down.

Genuinely amazing watching a bunch of half-wit politicians try to stick their dicks into a blender over this. Just absolutely insane levels of "why the fuck are you getting involved in this? What is wrong with you?"
I do hope someone has run this decision by chief hooliganism understander, tim farron

A third of UK councils are projected to go bust, as is Thames Water, NHS mental care is an oxymoron and your "industrial strategy" is fully built on an AI bubble thats gonna pop.

But, by all means, focus on the football supporters.
I think you can look at where he is during certain stages of play and and reliably infer that he’s in those positions because that’s where he is being instructed to be. I doubt we’ve got eight games into the season and he’s playing radically different to how he did for Bournemouth on a whim

Is the Premier League the only major sports competition in the world sponsored by, er, the country's armed forces?

Heaven help us when the poppy season starts for good.

I was thinking of that one as well. "We can't afford mass deportations - it's money we could have spent on a digital ID card."

Might get a quote if Katie Lam is going to play at Glastonbury or Villa Park.
Worth saying that despite asking for more than 12 hours we’ve had nothing back from Labour on this
A Conservative MP tipped as a future party leader has been condemned for saying large numbers of legally settled families must be deported, in order to ensure the UK is mostly “culturally coherent”.

If Damsgaard’s nickname isn’t The Boffin among the Brentford players, it really should be.
Making judgement about the player’s performance levels and trying to determine what tactical instructions they’re being given are two entirely different things. You’re talking about the former, I’m talking about the latter.
Don’t know what you mean. It’s still nil-nil. 🤷
I don’t really feel like these are comparable. All of those players were signed to do the roles they were known for before coming. Their delay in getting starts might be a good comparison for Frimpong but I don’t see what they illustrate about Kerkez.
I think one of the things that confuses people (and it is just one but I think it’s a good example) is the plan with the fullbacks. Why buy a left back who’s biggest strength is overlapping runs and have him invert or play as a back three in build up? I don’t expect an answer. It’s just an example.
But what about the mountains?
Arteta on convincing Zubimendi to sign: I told him the ideas that we had & how he wanted to play here would be ideal. We have an amazing history as a club, he saw that. We wanted him to live the life we have here and achieve what [we want]. We tried to show him that, he felt it.

On the Prince Andrew thing: I suspect most people couldn’t care less which titles he has or how he uses them. The point is that *he* cares about them, and that the king – who has clearly forced him into this declaration – wanted to deliver a smackdown of his brother in public so that we’d all see it

People often ask me "why can't tax avoidance be made illegal"?

It's a good question. I recently tried quite hard to make one of the worst kinds of tax avoidance illegal. I think I got it wrong.

This is Katie Lam, Conservative leadership hopeful, just casually talking about deporting anyone who she doesn’t believe is ‘culturally coherent’ in the Times this weekend. This puts her to the right of Enoch Powell. And there’s been silence in media on these comments.

Sunday Times interview Tory "rising star" Katie Lam

She is clear she wants lots of legal migrants to be told to "go home" so as "to leave a mostly but not entirely culturally coherent group of people"

(The interviewer suggests she is scrapping ILR or stripping people of it)

Hi, my name is Rachel Reeves. I've got it into my head that a government should spend absolutely no money at all, and that's what I'm working towards. It can't happen all at once but I am going to take it from the disgusting poors first, especially the ones that have things wrong with them. Ugh. Ew.
