ChatGPT discerned that sending an initial message on Monday midmorning would set the right pace. "Then it gave me some options for what the message could be," says Rich.
"Keep it light, warm, and low-stakes so it reads as genuine interest without urgency," the bot advised. "Something like: Hey Sarah, still laughing about [tiny shared moment/reference if you've got one] - good to meet you!" Rich went back and forth with ChatGPT until he felt they'd hit upon exactly the right message ("Hey Sarah, it was lovely to meet you") but sadly she never replied, he says. "It's been two weeks now."

Let's be clear about something.

Trump saying he won't pay federal employees, does not mean they would be denied payment for work they WILL do. It means he is refusing to pay them for work they already DID.

Which is something he has a long and storied history of doing.

Note on Trump Tower: I’ve always said that the building’s design fits the Chicago skyline and style of architecture like a glove. (Thank lead architect Adrian Smith for that.)

But the Trump name is a brand. It didn’t symbolize quality then; it’s toxic now.

One thing I would be interested in seeing is any correlation among increases in pedestrian deaths and speed/red light cameras. Are pedestrian deaths happening in areas where cars slow down in a camera-enforced zone, then accelerate when the vehicles are out?

I recommend reading the entire post. While the evidence strongly suggests that the rise in SUVs *is* behind the increase in pedestrian deaths, the analysis isn't concrete. And the increase is mostly concentrated to urban areas. /1

It's a solid point. Pritzker and Newsom have said that federal agents can be charged with state and local crimes, when possible. Moving traffic violations and side swiping vehicles should qualify.

A WGN producer was among the people taken, allegedly because she was among a group of bystanders who tried to intervene. ICE agents hit this car while making their getaway.
