So thankful that dudes without game now have the option of driving all of our energy bills up to come up with devastating lines like it was nice to meet you

I can’t emphasize how messed up it is to do this to people.

The Trump administration has now reversed the layoffs of a lot of federal employees. At the CDC, officials said some staff were mistakenly terminated due to a procedural error.

Congress gave away the purse.

This is just so very, very illegal. And Republicans in Congress aren’t the least bit interested in controlling the purse. They’re just employees of trump org at taxpayer expense. This is a dictatorship.

To be fair, I loved paying taxes because they were worth it for my jurisdiction. Yet I was unprepared for them to increase so much every year.
briefslayer.bsky.social
match the sale price, but it should be very close. Mine actually used to be higher than sale price and was assessed (read increased) every year 😢.
briefslayer.bsky.social
This is going to vary by jurisdiction. Some do assessments after x amount of years. Some do every year. If you’re in a jurisdiction where the assessment was done a decade ago and in that time the value tripled, you will be in for a surprise the next time there’s an assessment. It might still not

Also: if you work for ICE, even if you’re not one of the ones arresting citizens or tackling 15-year-olds or zip-tying kids together and segregating them by race, you’re part of the mechanism making it happen, and you should suffer long-term social and post-regime-change consequences.

Some weirdo on Twitter has been absolutely melting down for like 36 straight hours because I posted:

When this is over, do not forget what ICE did, and what ICE is. And do not make room for them in society. Make sure they know that they are, and will continue to be, reviled and beneath contempt.

That next tax assessment will be some sticker shock.

RFK fired the CDC official (w/decades of experience) leading the measles outbreak response. It's been decades since we've had such a large outbreak. And just to ensure they they can spread the measles outbreak even farther, they also fired the leadership for the center focused on immunization.
Figure showing the largest measles outbreak in the US in decades. There are over 1500 cases as of October 7 2025

Texas is preparing emergency resources for wildfires and floods. The Texas National Guard should be THERE — not in Illinois.

We stand ready to support their return home so they are best positioned for helping Texans respond to any natural disasters.
Abbott activates emergency resources ahead of growing wildfire threat, flood risk in Texas
With expected growing wildfire danger across Texas and the potential for a flood risk this weekend, Gov. Greg Abbott is activating more state emergency response resources Friday.

Second, they take away their paychecks.

They don't give their opinion to the media

They don't criticize how SCOTUS works

This is them breaking the emergency glass, folks

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.
