The average person is not informed that Covid is not confined to the respiratory system and infects blood vessels, immune cells, and the brain.

We rolled the dice and have exposed everyone to SARS2 repeatedly, and the idea that this has been determined safe through rigorous study is patently false.

I did several semesters of online classes that had no lecture component, and were really just "teach yourself this material by reading the assigned texts" and often with a little input from the assigned professor. It drove home how necessary educators are in the process.
Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."

“No, now hold on…!!
You give me one good reason.
One! Good! Reason!
Why a mass data shunt would kick on like that?! Hadn’t even finished the maintenance on it, fully!

…Never going to hear the end of this…”

Comic commission for @corriezodori.bsky.social!
A comic featuring Izarri (or Izzi) being uploaded into to a version of their friend Chip manifested as a master control program. After connecting a cable, he is sucked into a data shunt and banged around an ill-fitting pipe before being processed and subsequently elasticized by the process.

Dialogue:

OFF-SCREEN: “Izarri! Watch the intake when you fix that mainframe!”
IZZI: Sure, sure! Not like I haven’t been doing this for years or anything…
IZZI: Wish he would stop acting like I… SUCK?

( Cacophony of Grunts and Moans during the upload process, acting like some kind of mechanical peristalsis. )

IZZI: whaaaaAAAAAAA-!!
CHIP: Didn’t mind the intake, huh?
IZZI: Shut the hell up, Chip.

programmers do have a lot of leverage in the modern world-- we could stop a lot of evil if we acted together-- and this is why we are some of the most brainwashed people in history

This concept of parrhesia—and the difference in risk White/non-White people face in free speech—is something that doesn’t get enough attention in online discourse.

This is why I don’t respect “allies” unless they risk losing their White/male/cis/etc. privileges/benefits out of quiet selflessness.
In the face of armed, faceless state agents, a Black woman (a class of Americans normally relegated to identitylessness) declares her identity as an immigrant against ICE, and speaks with a Foucauldian parrhesia: a shouting of truth to power at great personal risk, turning speech into civic courage.

White privilege is enjoying the benefits of American citizenship—both politically and socially—that is not as accessible to Black and Brown Americans, whose citizenship is just as valid.

We have to prove and perform our Americanness for survival, and not a performative aesthetic like Whitefolk do.

In Fanon’s “Black Skin, White Masks” and in Bhabha’s foreword, they discuss the idea of the colonial gaze fixing the social position of a racialized subject as an object to manage.

This woman counters this by demanding a legible American personhood in the masked face ICE agents obscuring their own.

She is performing the inverse of Althusser’s “hailing,” where speech positions an individual as a subject.

Here, after being “hailed” as an “Other,” she is:
• relabeling her identity from alien-target to citizen-speaker
• relabeling the ICE agents from legitimate government authority to “bitch”

“My face ain’t hidden, bitch. I’m American, you stupid bitch.”

This is a patriotism White people can never fully understand on such a visceral level.

“Americanness” was constructed excluding Blackfolk—immigrant or slave-descendant—as “internal foreigners” in the words of Saidiya Hartman.

Seeing game devs take a "the customer is always right" approach to feedback is so sad because like I get it from a PR perspective, but...

1) The customer is always wrong

2) Your customers are gamers, so they're twice as wrong

All hell can’t stop us now.
Plus, I post over here by posting publicly over there, and while it's all bad, there's a lot of the fediverse I'd rather not have attention from versus Bluesky
It can be summed up as who do we in the diaspora end up valorizing, and what could have been done with these great African empires
I wrote a lot more over on the fediverse but it's honestly such a challenge to format my normal posting to fit over here with 200 less characters

frankly insane that 20-ish years ago some devs in japan said "how do we adapt mystery dungeon for pokemon," someone said "why don't we have the player be a pokemon," and as a direct result i now wear a collar and have about 5 online friends that identify as the mythical pokemon mew

You know, another takeaway from the private racist conversations in GOP groups is the fact that a bunch of 30+ year old Nazis are the ones astroturfing "young conservative" groups

important note from libcrusher:
Reactivating temporarily to send a warning.
Since I got doxxed, it appears the same doxxing ring has targeted several other users. I learned that they were banned this week, only for Elon to, apparently, personally unban them. I feel obliged to warn everyone about my experience.

It wasn't just my personal information that got published. Someone, somewhere, got my passwords too. For my banking accounts, brokerage accounts, venmo, etc.
Most of which had different and unique passwords. All these attempts started the day i got doxxed, and have sporadically continued since. If you know anyone who's been doxxed by this group, you need to have them change all their passwords on every website immediately. Ensure 2FA and any other security measures are in place everywhere.
And, wherever possible, document and report it. Frankly, if you're a lefty of any note, do it now too

If anyone was also a victim of this or knows someone who was, there are ways to reach me. I wish I could go into more details right now. But until that time comes, protect yourself.

I will be deactivating in 20 minutes.
Hopefully, that's enough time for the warning to get out.
