Tear gassing random residential streets is just absolutely psychotic behavior.

Do you know how to read a chart? Because the largest category is "I do not know this man" you can't just look at that his favorability is the lowest and say that. If you're going to work this way I can say he's the most popular because his unfavorable rating is the lowest. This isn't journalism.
And the good news is that “fight oligarchy” is going to be a lot more exciting and appealing to the 12 year old mind than “I’m a pro-life democrat and I’m scared of trans and Muslim people”
‘Everyone is 12’ is a very useful theory because Ezra Klein will tell you that you need to to be centrist/conservative to be more popular with the median American voter, but actually the median American voter is not ideologically centrist or conservative, they are a 12 year old boy.
working on a new unified theory of american reality i'm calling "everyone is twelve now"

"normies do not care about this thing and so it is no use raising a stink" is imho just an excuse for not doing politics, which is the job of making normies care about something

the basic story here is simple: just over a decade ago the media frantically covered a story about the Obama IRS targeting conservatives. now, it looks like the Trump administration is doing everything conservatives pretended Obama was, and it's a non-story.

at this point it would be interesting journalism if someone could locate a Young Republican groupchat that was not full of overt Nazis

A lot of centrist commentators who genuinely got worked up about the unforgivably insulting nature of "cling to guns and religion" or "basket of deplorables" are weirdly silent about Trump portraying himself as literally shitting on American cities

the mamdani thing is showing you how limited the range of acceptable opinions actually is in america. republicans can be a stone's throw away from endorsing genocide and thats fine but one guy goes slightly to the left of dem party orthodoxy and we're right in the middle of soviet russia

Cuomo’s desperate final act is bankrolled by the very billionaires who brought us Donald Trump and the broken status quo.

New Yorkers are ready for change.

Q: “Most hospitals + people who will lose insurance are in rural areas. If Trump & Republicans are so intent on sticking it to their own voters, why not let them?”

@aoc.bsky.social : “That’s the difference between us & Trump. I don’t care if you voted for me, I want you to have health care.”

I will say if that whole military meeting had been an email it would have been a pretty weird email

You may have heard my arguments against the Electoral College before. Here’s a new one the Founders never anticipated:

If the President is elected by popular vote, he probably wouldn’t selectively punish entire states for voting against him.

Oregon is set to lose an additional $400 million in federal grants awarded for climate action and is among more than a dozen Democratic states losing federal funding after the Trump administration terminated nearly $8 billion for those states this week.

Basically my entire politics. I am interested in your liberalism if it's liberalism that takes liberalism seriously but I can't consider it to be such a thing if there is some racial exemptions made simply for the benefit of your preferred group in MENA. This is what liberalism in the US does.
I do not oppose liberalism as a camp per se I oppose their exceptionalization vis a vis Israel

if we'd treated their obvious baldfaced lies and deflections more like this over the past eight years maybe we wouldn't be in this situation

shocking how easy it is when you actually see it done
STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

VANCE: No, George, I sai--

STEPHANOPOULOS: We'll be right back

Weiss (and Flanagan) spent years raising the alarm about a set of totally imagined threats to free speech. Then Weiss immediately aligned herself with incredibly powerful, incredibly corrupt men who actually stuffed free speech into a wood chipper, and they rewarded her with power. Brilliant!
Ratio me. Please. It's a badge of honor. If you don't like a link, go follow some chicken-heart who needs the approval of the thought-police. Caitlin Flanagan of @theatlantic.com is a tremendous writer and this piece is an excellent read. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Thiessen having a good chuckle about his fired liberal colleagues - some of whom he worked with for 15 years - is a good reminder that token conservatives at mainstream news outlets are/were there to destroy them, not to contribute to them.

So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

Dems: “Sorry, we can’t talk about this. We’re too busy proving we care about protecting Americans from random street violence”
