I honestly think it’s just the looped b-roll from 2020 on Fox News and Trump just assumes that it’s a live shot and the city is always on fire like that.

I suppose he's technically correct, since $60/42 gals per barrel = $1.43 per gallon. Of course, getting the gallon from a storage tank in Cushing, Oklahoma to a refinery to be made into gasoline and then into your gas tank also costs money.

Tricia Mclaughlin again with these absurd little-kid lies!!! "The local news producer was throwing things at border patrol" how is it not a scandal that the mouthpiece of dhs is this much of a lunatic

UPDATE: In emailed statement to me / @reason.com, DHS alleges that WGN-TV producer Debbie Brockman "threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer."
Screencap of email from DHS public affairs: Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

“U.S. Border Patrol was conducting immigration enforcement operations and when several violent agitators used their vehicles to block in agents in an effort to impede and assault federal officers. In fear of public safety and of law enforcement, officers used their service vehicle to strike a suspect’s vehicle and create an opening. As agents were driving, Deborah Brockman, a U.S. citizen, threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer.

“This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of illegal aliens violently resisting arrest and agitators and criminals ramming cars into our law enforcement officers. These attacks highlight the dangers our law enforcement officers face daily—all while receiving no pay thanks to the Democrats’ government shutdown.”

Although Fox is playing the b-roll from 2020, which is the most likely explanation for why Trump thinks there's chaos in Portland.

It's a joke from the 1950's, but Beltway media has decided to make it a thing because they love a horserace. bsky.app/profile/clay...
clayranck.bsky.social
Wait, the joke Jay Jones used that's from the 1950's? They're really crying about that? Republicans really are the softest, most fragile people on earth.
When owner Walter O’Malley announced in 1957 that he would move the Dodgers from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, many New Yorkers decided he was ‘a money-grubbing weasel who ripped the soul from their community.’ That’s how David Davis describes the enmity the move generated in his review of ‘Forever Blue: The True Story of Walter O’Malley, Baseball’s Most Controversial Owner, and the Dodgers of Brooklyn and Los Angeles’ by Michael D’Antonio.

D’Antonio makes the case, Davis says, that O’Malley was driven to leave New York by Robert Moses, who wouldn’t give him enough land for a new ballpark. But that rationale won’t satisfy those who repeat the joke, ‘If Stalin, Hitler and O’Malley are in a room and you only have two bullets, who do you shoot?’ (The answer: ‘O’Malley, twice.’)

100% tariffs are back on the menu, I guess? President Deals is making so much progress on those Chinese trade negotiations that they said were going so well.
paleofuture.bsky.social
Trump says he’s going to put a 100% tariff on China “over and above any Tariff that they are currently paying.”

“Also on November 1st, we will impose Export Controls on any and all critical software.”
Donald J. Trump
@reaDonald Trump
It has just been learned that China has taken an extraordinarily aggressive position on Trade in sending an extremely hostile letter to the World, stating that they were going to, effective November 1st, 2025, impose large scale Export Controls on virtually every product they make, and some not even made by them. This affects ALL Countries, without exception, and was obviously a plan devised by them years ago. It is absolutely unheard of in International Trade, and a moral disgrace in dealing with other Nations.
Based on the fact that China has taken this unprecedented position, and speaking only for the U.S.A., and not other Nations who were similarly threatened, starting November 1st, 2025 (or sooner, depending on any further actions or changes taken by China), the United States of America will impose a Tariff of 100% on China, over and above any Tariff that they are currently paying. Also on November Ist, we will impose Export Controls on any and all critical software.
It is impossible to believe that China would have taken such an action, but they have, and the rest is History. Thank you for your attention to this matter

Rig count was trending lower earlier in the year, but stabilized a bit recently. This move in crude prices could push rig counts even lower.

Republicans are now crying about Jay Jones telling a version of a joke that is at least as old as the 1950's. This is even dumber than the "8647" outrage about Comey from earlier this year. These people really are the whiniest little bitches on earth.
