Look, we can use Bluesky as a tool for catharsis -- vent: post about the despicable, crazy stuff Trump, Musk and their minions are doing, adding appropriate emojis 🤬😪. Or we can use this platform to plan our response, form our army, and coordinate our actions. I'd like to be involved in the latter.
OBBB channels more support toward large commodity/crop-insurance programs while reducing the nutrition side that sustains many small farmers and rural food economies.
One Big Beautiful Bill cuts to #SNAP reduce food-purchasing power of low-income households, which lowers demand for farm products, especially for farms engaged in local/regional food systems, like those in Eastern WA.

“Don’t want to lose SNAP? Tell the Dems to reopen the government!”

SNAP assistance gets cut in the big beautiful bill too.

Healthcare is slashed as well.

They’re withholding food for 40 million Americans to try and force the Dems to sign off on cutting food AND healthcare!

I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

Your gentle reminder that Rep. Melissa Hortman was assassinated on June 14 and hardly anyone bothered to talk about it .

Good point. Still, I support Jeffries, and anyone in congress that isn't complicit in the destruction of our Democracy.
Let's find out who's planning to do the drilling and "lobby" them not to. There's too much cash involved to offer that as an incentive, so lets offer "cost avoidance."

🚨⚖️📚Adam Schiff warns that the Supreme Court could gut the Voting Rights Act. The Louisiana v. Callais case challenges Section 2—the law protecting Black representation from vote dilution. If overturned, it could erase minority districts and lock in minority rule. Ginsburg warned us.

Also, ayo @jay.bsky.team and the BlueSky team, if you’re gonna permaban Link and Palestinian aid accounts, it’s not a good look if you also don’t ban government accounts engaged in obvious violations of the Hatch Act, which is an actual federal law.

(if you would like to report the accounts for violations of the Hatch Act, it’s 5 U.S.C. § 7326(2), feel free to send it in to the mod team)

The War Dept had best study up on the Hatch Act. Per the Office of Special Counsel: On duty executive branch employees "may not engage in political activity—i.e., activity directed at the success of failure of a political party, candidate for partisan political office, or partisan political group."
