Way back in the early days of the Internet Public Library (late 90s) one of our students did something similar: thought they were deleting a link from their directory to the IPL directory, but instead deleted the actual IPL files. Fortunately we did nightly back-ups and were able to restore.

Oh hey, that’s a series I bought the first issue of when it came out but then never saw the subsequent issues on the stands and thus never knew what happened (though I did read the follow-up Specials) anyway I see it’s on DC Infinite so maybe I’ll finally read them?
