It's time to light the candles.
It's time to chant the rites.
It's time to summon Satan

Yikes, what a war-torn hell hole, amirite?
Status in Portland, 10 pm-ish
I knew we had the *regular* kind, on account of the whiskey rebellion being here and all that. (There's a local distillery named after those events, and the "whiskey rebellion lodge" was the local O.T.O. lodge that Todd and I were members of for a while.)
One way I know I have the right friend group is, this is the kind of question that could cause us to extend a lunch hour to ninety minutes.
It was a lot of work to get into (and out of!), but I think I'm ready for tomorrow. But only because @lizardincrimson.bsky.social helped me put it on and take it off -- it's not a one-person job.

lol people HATE this post so much but actually you can safely do this

There’s going to be several million people at these protests. If you’re not doing crimes, if you’re standing with a bunch of retirees in front of the mall or wherever, you can take the picture and share it.
Take a picture of yourself at the No Kings rally.

Print it.

Put it in a frame.

Your grandchildren will speak about you for generations to come. You took a stand against fascism. You stood up for democracy.

So there is apparently a new wave of Twitter folks here? Well, here’s a starter pack of cat accounts if you’d like! go.bsky.app/J8yqxnN
Mine's an inflated frog that's black with a skeleton printed on it. I normally walk with a staff because I'm too tall for a cane, plus, look at my profile picture, I look like a wizard anyway.

So, I'm calling the costume a "frog lich" (or maybe bullywug lich).

The Portland ICE protest camp literally has a rack full of inflatable costumes for demonstrators who want to try one on...
Life goals.
The Portland Frog army has now infiltrated Tulsa, OK and they’ve made an unlikely alliance with the T-Rex infantry and Sharks on Hoverboards mercenary forces.

This is truly terrifying.
I was honestly surprised at how much Rudy Ruckers "Ware Tetralogy" avoided that when I first read it. It took me quite a while to realize how long ago it had been written.
Best I can do is late noughties.
This is the way.

Pretty sure that when you have giant frogs everywhere, God is very disappointed in how you are treating immigrants.
Things are happening at Portland's ICE facility tonight.

(We're a mixed household. I'm DC, my wife is Marvel.)
Ah. Hm. Okay, I'll think over resuming the whole series.

(But as it happens, I'm a big Superman fan. The "incorruptible boy scout" version of him, at least.)
So, for someone who got the "ick" from the first episode or two and who has pretty much skipped S2, would you recommend just ignoring most of it and watching the last episode?
