yes we know kid rock is a loser, it's just something ive noticed about mainstream conservative rhetoric "the blue hair and pronouns"

like these freaks wont be happy until we're all iron pressed pasty blond aryans with enough botox to preserve an elephant
doriandawes.bsky.social
many have pointed out that kid rock is no person to judge when he dresses like a buffoon

but also god it is weird having grown up in the late nineties and early aughts and despite the dearth of culture multicolored hair was more than acceptable and if you made fun of it you were a loser

Kid Rock: Do you know what is stupid… these chicks running around on campuses with blue hair, five nose rings.

apparently the new Netflix show Monster: The Ed Gein Story invented an "autogynephilia" backstory for their serial killer (because of course they did!). so time to re-up my collection of writings on this pseudoscientific zombie theory...

this is why the sequel didnt work for me and that third one ill be skipping entirely

the original tron is so goddamned stylish and they updated its aesthetics to look like an apple store
danielirizarri.bsky.social
I think what's impressive about TRON is that, visually, it's still so much more interesting than any of it's sequels. It's crazy that they tried update this digital world by making it as 'realistically rendered' as possible. It's a complete misunderstanding of the original's charm.
a still from TRON (1982) a still from TRON (1982) a still from TRON (1982) Still from TRON (1982

This might be anecdotal/faulty sense of the general vibe but I could swear John Carpenter has gone from "that guy who made Halloween and then, yeah, Starman" to (rightly) "one of the preeminent visual stylists of his generation with basically nothing but heaters" while I've been around.

throwing this prompt from Twitter in here. what examples you got?
tweet by @Caol_MacCormaic that reads, uncs of film twitter: what are some movies that are canonical now but were basically unknown when we were coming up? like Come and See or Possession. inversely: what are some movies or filmmakers that seem to have fallen off? (Takashi Miike comes to mind)

We are not trivialising LLMs.

Copyright theft is not trivial.

Environmental damage is not trivial.

Unreliability is not trivial.

Risk to human cognition is not trivial.

Ignoring consent when shoving it into every fucking thing while making us pay our hard-earned money for it is not trivial.

That movie is really about putting Milla in every wig possible while she fights guys with swords. It's camp and it's fun.

I really don't like that Satoshi Kon was right about literally everything. It would have been nice for him to miss at least once.

Knight falling out of Love

[ #oc | #art | #ttrpg ]
knight oc wreg pulling an arrow out of his chest. He looks pained but determined and he has multiple similar arrow scars, that are covered by broadleaf plantain. In his other hand hangs a hunting horn.

I mean I do think this man is thoroughly beyond coherence. Half of these people have driven themselves insane.
doriandawes.bsky.social
I do think it is on us to spell it out to people that is the kind of unhinged wacko shit these technofascists believe. For you, normal person, this is a toy. The people in charge however believe they are inventing God and that's fuck nuts.
