NEW: After The Washington Post reported Monday on the demolition of the "East Wing facade," a new picture obtained by Law Dork that was taken on Tuesday shows that a substantial portion of the entirety of the East Wing has been demolished.

The West Wing is now just the Wing.
And like I'm pretty over the age of the Democrats! My point is that there is plenty of time til November 2026. Find more people!

But I want to see a lot of people retire from congress not just certain people and ignore the others.
Ok so I'm now seeing people defending the guy with the tattoo in Maine because they really trust a Sanders endorsement and they'd rather overlook a little Nazi shit than vote for someone in their 70s.

I'm very tempted to ask why their octogenarian is okay but a septuagenarian isn't.

I don’t understand why anyone’s debating this — a Nazi tattoo is a non starter, full stop.

This is a race for a U.S. Senate seat. The bar for candidates to clear doesn’t have to be insanely high, but it should at least be off the ground

Dear everything that is holy.

People.

I know from battle scars and war wounds and PTSD and raised racist and watching filth.

I am not perfect. I hurt people from my damage sometimes.

What I have never done is rape anyone or get a fucking Nazi tattoo. Stop infantilizing your cultural heroes.
I caucused in '16 and literally was standing in front of elderly minorities as a bunch of Bernie supporters yelled at them and tried to intimidate them to change their votes. That was when I began campaigning to ditch caucuses in WA and side eyed loud Sanders supporters. Still do.
I have a bed that technically can connect to wifi. It never has nor will it ever. It's just getting hard to find anything with electric that isn't also "smart" these days.
The fact that they didn't even try and salvage the windows just kills me. You're not going to tell me there is nothing worth saving.

Plus, did they remediate asbestos?! In a building that age there is little chance none existed.
Scoop: Trump has started demolishing the White House's East Wing facade to build his ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the $250 million building wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure. /W @ddiamond.bsky.social wapo.st/4hqBNiU

Jewish Insider just sent out an email with an article with more Platner info. And yeah, this guy is DONE done.

People are having a reaction to the Planter thing because they liked him and are now feeling shame that he was outed. There's a reflexive desire to feel like there is something wrong with YOU.

I wish we'd see it differently. There are people all around you who hold these beliefs and you don't know.

mood. the number of my ex-colleagues who are kiwi farmers is... more than just the one I've outed so far.

it's Not Good! never would have known without some serious investigative firepower (high-five @kathryntewson.bsky.social). what people will say to your face vs behind back sure is something.

A real-life case study in anonymous internet harassment and insider threat: I must sadly retract my endorsement of Kevin Crawley, as I have recently learned he is a Kiwi Farms member. I believe he may pose a safety risk to his colleagues, or even to his employer.

Pried my nose ring out today because I have an MRI tomorrow and lemme tell you IT FEELS SO WEIRD! I've had some kind of stud or hoop in nonstop for many years now.

Here's to hoping it doesn't close up in the few days it'll take me to make a new piece for it cause I'm too poor to buy. Gold is $$$$

i liked how Platner was campaigning and I am prepared to believe a young marine could make literally any stupid mistake. but I don't believe a guy could spend twenty years maturing politically the way he has and not know what a death's head means

Is this how much more he needs for the guilded ballroom or something? WTF?
Breaking News: President Trump wants $230 million from the Justice Department for investigating him, people familiar with the matter say. Any settlement might ultimately be approved by senior department officials who defended him or those in his orbit. nyti.ms/4hmIi5X

It seems like just yesterday - and also several decades ago - that Jeffrey Goldberg was added to the Houthi Small Group Signal chat and @annabower.bsky.social, half-joking/half-hopeful offered up her signal info to anyone in the administration who wanted to add her to a chat, and now here we are.
EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

My doctors office has decided to require that I be on *video calls* at least 15 minutes before the appointment starts. Considering there is 0 check-in requirements on video and I'd do absolutely nothing until the doctor shows (2-5 minutes after appt time) I'm going to flout it. Wish me luck!

No Kings couldn't have gone better - massive turnout, no violence, and it drove Trump so crazy his response was "Kings are good and I poop on everyone." Best of all was the effect on the millions of participants and everyone watching.

My latest at Public Notice: www.publicnotice.co/p/no-kings-p...
No Kings was a huge success. Just look at Trump's response.
Turnout was enormous. There was no violence. And the wannabe king is triggered.

In case anyone is wondering why I was using it for that when pretty much any doc software shows characters, it's because different social media sites have weird rules like links always count as x characters, breaks happen at this many characters, etc. Thought it might save me time. It didn't.
I asked it to try again and that time it spit out something where it added characters to my writing and then said it was 470 characters.

The idea that people are trusting this output for anything scares me.
In case anyone is wondering, chatgpt is incapable of counting. Decided to try it again after so many people had told me it was great for proofing and running writing against requirements.

Just fed in a couple of sm rules and asked for character counts. 800 character post, told me it was 500.
It is shocking, but I will say I've never understood why the first spouse was expected to have offices and staff. I'm all for abolishing that and not expecting spouses to do unpaid required work for the government. But still, it's over 100 years old and part of the structure :/
Guessing the protests outside ice in PDX today are gonna be interesting. Ugh.
