I know the point isn't that they ACTUALLY want positive change, it's that they want to write a thing that performs being better than other people, but god damn is this annoying when it comes from tech people in particular. You built an inaccessible world now you have to work to fix it if you care

A lot of people complaining about how they can't explain workslop to other people are mostly revealing they've never had to do ANY socially difficult kind of scicomm. Wow people won't listen to you mockingly sigh and call them stupid? Please call up the journal of educational psychology on that one

the thing about communicating science to people is that you have to convince them, and to convince them they have to trust you, and people do not trust other people who think they are stupid.

Don’t feel stupid if you fell for fake video. It can be really hard to tell these days. But we do have to try and be careful with what we share because there’s so much AI video out there.
