the extent to which media elites treat liberal americans as if they do not count in the body politic is a real problem
perrybaconjr.bsky.social
I read the piece. You shouldn't. He dismisses the "No Kings" protests as liberals in blue cities. He invokes Rosa Parks, as if rural white people in the 60s loved everything that the movement then was doing. "We need a movement but not this one" is a core centrist tact these days.

some colleagues have suggested to me that shame is irrelevant because the people on the "other side" don't know or care what "we" (on whatever "this side") think of them. I have...not gotten that impression

What do I know and I'm not saying it's a magic bullet or anything like that but it sure seems to me that Dems should run hard on the Argentina bailout. Not anywhere near the worst thing Trump has done, but i suspect it's unusually clarifying.

Jeffries: "It's perplexing to us that Rs refuse to spend a dime to protect the healthcare of the American people, but somehow the Trump admin found $40b to bail out a right-wing wannabe dictator in Argentina in ways that are also going to continue to hurt our soybean farmers in Iowa & the Midwest"

I think my hottest take is that actually, explaining jokes can be good and not suck all of the humor out of them because it's good to bring more friends into the funny part

It's always good to see priests who still remember there are *seven* Catholic social principles. Also, that noise you hear is the USCCB screeching to the Vatican and getting back nothing, lol

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

Someone whom I dislike, who is very big on Net Zero stuff, just bought a new car for the second time in three years. So naturally I'm gonna vent about it here.

The greenest/most sustainable car? Is the one you ALREADY OWN.

Thank you for coming to my petty ted talk.

This is cool after the war on everything called “porn” by platforms and payment processors. A machine that stole all your words can generate and sell “erotica” but you can’t haaa

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year
We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Rev. Woolf, who below describes federal agents grabbing his neck and twisting his nipple as he protested (in a clerical collar) outside the Broadview ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois, is ordained in both the American Baptist Churches USA denomination and the Alliance of Baptists.

"It's really unfair to call us censors just because we're trying to ban books"

county17.com/2021/09/30/l...
Senator Troy McKeown (R-Gillette) spoke midway through the public comments regarding his concern about how challenges are being handled.
"We hide behind the First Amendment when it's convenient. When we have a group of people who want to do something else, it's censorship," McKeown said. "At the end of the day you say it's only the parent's responsibility. You can't ensure responsibility. Parents can sign every library card you want. You can't sign another individual's rights away, no matter how old they are."

The piece is a curved standing shape, in deep blue and black colors in Native design, made from glass.

Christopher Columbus was dragged back to Spain in chains by a crusading knight, convicted of tyranny and immeasurable cruelty, pardoned by Isabella but banned from returning to Hispaniola.

Fuck Columbus.

boost your user satisfaction and growth with this one weird trick (removing the shit everyone hates that you added for no reason)
r/SaaS
u/soasme
I deleted ALL AI features... and user growth went UP.

Everyone's busy adding Al to everything.
I did the same for indie10k.com but it didn't work.
I removed all of fancy Al stuff - Al coach, Al growth ideas, Al "personalized" advice - everything.
Guess what?
I see more registered users and higher retention.
That actually make me wonder why now i have one page with one button, without all that Al thingy, but it does better?
Here's my question:
Is Al feature actually helping SaaS grow?
