Exactly. Them and CBS it’s all the same problem. They see this as a sign to shift their perspective towards the right and either curry favor or win over the right wing public. Which is just not happening.

new all of mpls lit against katie cashman going to ward 7 homeowners. police recruitment budget claim was about digital advertising, but there was still more than $200k end of last year that was left unspent. cashman voted for MPD raises.

It’s not just mayoral forums that Frey is skipping.

Frey did not respond to MPR when they put together their 2025 Voter Guide, refusing to answer hard-hitting questions such as “Why are you running?” and “What are the top issues you’re discussing with voters and why?”

It sounds like (wildly) MPD did all the right things today maybe? Obvi would love more confirmation but: they showed up timely to a 911 call; the saw ICE, did not assist, and left; and then when ICE pursued to talk with MPD, MPD refused?

Again, skepticism is VERY VALID but I’m hoping for the best.

i know people are eager to show MPD working with ICE but you really gotta slow down and verify info before sharing it. what are MPD supposed to do if they get called in, just not respond? but if they do, then it gets painted as ICE collaboration based on photos without info. dangerous stuff here

Heads up, Minneapolis, the Gestapo are showing up and bringing their own drones. They also happen to think they’re going to be the winners in this fight.

If there’s one thing Minneapolis is good at It’s making it very clear that people in authority do not have the power to control us.

ICE had a large white drone they were trying to put in the air but neighborhood pressure grew and they started to pack up and leave. One neighbor was shouting that ICE is a bunch of losers and an agent said to her “you’re going to lose. We will win.”

Walk down Washington from 10th to Hennepin and count the amount of small, local businesses. There’s a handful of them. But so much is now corporate storefronts. This ordinance could’ve helped more diverse local business options enter high value corridors.

But that’s not what Frey’s donors pay for…

Mayor Frey’s donor list is full of big shot developers and landlords who want first dibs on every single vacancy to further their “Urban Playground” vision for MPLS.

Look at where I live in North Loop. One expensive grocery store (Whole Foods) and 3 different “golf-n-booze” places within a mile.

Last week, Mayor Frey continued his record of vetos that help only his donors. This is his 15th veto of Council actions, which is more than the previous two mayors combined. Minneapolis deserves better than bending to corporations at the cost of our local, BIPOC small businesses.
