Dont ever use OneDrive

"Slashdot: What's the reason OneDrive tells users this setting can only be turned off 3 times a year?

[Microsoft's publicist chose not to answer this question.]"

GUESS WHO'S BACK

BACK AGAIN

DOC'S BACK

TELL A FRIEND

That's right. It's time for part 3 of the FPS series; this time, a lot of assorted thoughts on what makes for good enemy design. This one was fun as hell to write.

building a better first person shooter part 3: enemy mine
So! First, we talked about a specific subgenre of first person shooter, loosely starting with Unreal and Half-Life and dying off around…

Twitter is still learning the law of the group chat that was originally stated there

This is an exact encapsulation of why I moved to Bluesky.

No amount of handwringing in the Atlantic about how I owe some eternal Promethean suffering to the discourse is going to make me stay on a site I hate, that stopped doing anything for me professionally years ago.
Well – no. Bluesky may or may not be, as one centre-right friend who felt unwelcome put it, “self-righteous island”. But the idea that’s why we went is nonsense. That I’ve largely stopped posting on a site that’s done more to shape my career and social circle than the rest of the internet combined is less about avoiding rival opinions (I love arguing with people who are wrong!) than with the fact the site simply became unusable. It stopped generating the things (good jokes, interesting debate, clicks) I wanted; it became extremely good at generating the things (racists, pornbots, racist pornbots) I did not.

American exceptionalism isn't just a way to feel superior to other countries; it's also a way to dismiss any attempt to improve something, because if it was possible to improve America would surely have done so already

For no particular reason, remembering late-arc Lord Yu, a Goa'uld suffering from dementia after being alive for several millennia, and whose empire was actually being run by his Jaffa

Just a reminder that Wikipedia is the only remaining reliable source of information that right wing billionaires can't control. (Although they'll never stop trying.)

Please donate to them whenever you can. Even a little bit helps.

Eve also has the excuse of being a literal android (gynoid?), so some "design flair" can be expected. Atsu is, at least in theory, a human being who has to contend with regular human physics.

Yeah. The character on the right looks like a person, if somewhat stylized, and the character on the left looks like a character from a low-budget Steam game.

If you think you know why US newspapers died, this feature documentary now streaming for free on PBS might surprise you. It wasn't the Internet. Newspapers were specifically targeted by vulture capitalists.

I composed the score for the film, which features electric cello & Crowfoot guitars.

My grandmother had three shows she watched religiously:

The Bold and the Beautiful
Days of Our Lives

My understanding is it's basically martial arts soap opera (which does kinda fit with how many grandmas seem unusually invested in it)

The online verification explicitly stated that no information would be held and that it would be deleted as soon as you age verified. Does this mean they can be sued under GDPR? 🤔

The frustrating part about this lie is that mutual obligations and the low rate of payment have actually been proven several times to create material barriers to this, even if 100% employment was actually possible, and under capitalism it is simply not.

I mean, it's kind of telling just how many of the people who insist Link did a bannable action then go on to add "but he should have been banned long before that." Kinda giving away the game there, you just don't like him and want to clean house so you can have Normie Twitter 2.0
