Virtue signaling is good, actually. It shows you value virtue and sets a public standard against which one can be measured that is not socially imposed. People decided it was bad because they didn't want to act virtuously and they didn't want to be judged for their lack of virtues.

In a way it hasn't before it really feels like a specific viewpoint is being pushed on me instead of my own viewpoints being reinforced (which is normally how the algo works).
