The manosphere lies to men to make them feel good about themselves, and they/we love that. You don't have to understand something to lie about it - in fact, understanding can get in the way. But if you lie in ways that make people want to listen to you, they'll mistake that for understanding.

Saw a thing from the Atlantic titled "Why is Joe Rogan so popular?" The lede is "He understands men better than most," and that is not it AT ALL. People who struggle against patriarchy & cissexism understand cis men better than most, because they *have* to.

economics and philosophy departments, IMHO, are filled with conservatives. and I know lots of "socially liberal, economically conservative" types in the sciences and engineering. and a film professor once threw a copy of the constitution in my face (literally) during a class fight about abortion.
