also on saturday i had three people ask me for help in spanish and i was able to answer them in spanish without it being a huge thing

was i fluent? no. understandable? seems so!
1. conducted a small linguistic investigation at work which confirmed the many instagram videos about the difficulty of the word “popcorn” in spanish. “crispetes,” “palomitas,” “mani,” and “popcorn” were the words I collected.

while my switch to a physical newspaper has revealed that I am not as diligent about reading the news as I has previously believed, it also has allowed me to function semi-normally in an extremely exhausting media environment.
And it's gotten progressively worse! And this is entirely a digression but I'm convinced a whole lot of it's partially due to moral injury from immersing themselves in trauma porn 24/7 bsky.app/profile/raha...
Not trying to armchair diagnose or anything, but a whole lot of people who are constantly screaming at other people about Causes on social media exhibit A LOT of behaviors that would make me put them on moral injury burnout leave if they were T&S agents I was managing

Fatphobia goes hand in hand with transphobia and is rampant even in otherwise progressive spaces because it makes people feel a sense of control to police their own and other people's bodies. It is social poison and we will never eliminate transphobia without eliminating anti-fatness.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
