A BLOOMY HEAD is my first historical romance, set in 1820 Shropshire. Dr. Thomas Holyoke has been unceremoniously ejected by a horrible injury from the British military, and finds himself being taken home to the chaotic family of his surgical assistant, Henry Gravenor.
hey! Lovestruck Books currently has ONE copy of A Bloomy Head left on the shelves!

lol, it’s a lot easier to form a tenants union when everyone in the building is in the same group chat
MAJOR: Twin Cities Tenants joins five labor unions, together repping 25,900 members, to launch a rent strike drive, vowing to withhold rent March 1 if @governorwalz.mn.gov fails to deliver an eviction moratorium and rent relief. If launched, this would be the largest US rent strike in 100+ years.

It's easy to get clicks from telling everyone that stormtroopers are going to surround every polling station in America, but vital action now includes making sure:

1) Everyone is registered
2) they haven't been purged if they WERE registered
3) they know what ID they need
4) they can get that ID

This is what the state of Voter ID laws currently is. It's incoherent, every state has different rules, untangling them or giving generalized national advice is pointless. Most folks don't know the rules INSIDE their own state, much less in everyone else's!

Please read this thread!!!

And if you are concerned about ICE being deployed for voter intimidation, find a local voting rights org who is already doing the work.

Start with Vote Riders. States having weird/changing Voter ID laws is less flashy for scaring folks but it works real well.
Each arrest takes like a half dozen agents. They just don’t have the manpower for this. I am not even sure where the marginal utility of this type of thing would be. Maybe if they concentrated their efforts in one congressional district or something.
One of my biggest fears about the midterms is that ICE could flood the polls with agents who perform Kavanaugh Stops on every non-white person before they get a chance to cast a ballot, then detain them until voting is over. Which is not far-fetched at this point. www.huffpost.com/entry/ice-po...

reposting that last because I think charity and mutual aid are both good and necessary, but they are structurally pretty different.

I have not successfully done any mutual aid which did not cultivating a friendship first.
