Sliwa: The only reason that Zohran is on the stage is because of the failed governor Cuomo who was rejected by the Democrats in the primary and rejected by 13 women who charged you with sexual harassment. You know what no means?

I always wonder how folks like Krauss and Dawkins fail to feel any shame for betraying science and the academic enterprise more generally. Nate is probably right that it's just the huckster's temptation, only now selling resentment instead of snake oil.

Wait until they go Gaza style on the American public because they are a dictator and they won’t concede elections. That irony will literally hit Americans in the face if and when it starts. If you think this is alarmist you haven’t been paying attention

Food banks need money if you’ve got it. For everything else, contact them and ask—some can take donated meat by hunters or eggs from backyard flocks, some can’t.
Records obtained by ProPublica indicate that food banks across the country were expecting more than 27 million pounds of chicken, 2 million gallons of milk, 10 million pounds of dried fruit and 60 million eggs that never arrived.
Trump Canceled 94 Million Pounds of Food Aid. Here’s What Never Arrived.
ProPublica obtained records from the Department of Agriculture that detail the millions of pounds of food, down to the number of eggs, that never reached food banks because of the administration’s cut...

If you have a chart at the OKC Indian Clinic there's a Nutrition Center in the office across from the east entrance. You can get a food box once a month and, as far as I know, there's fresh produce every Monday that you can get even if you've already gotten a box.

Local PDs can withdraw from all this too. They often should. It isn’t required of them. They don’t have to turn their resources over to the Feds to protect federal jails and offices. Mayors and governors can stop it.

This is *not* true.

The Geneva Conventions of 1949 were adjustments to deal with the questions arising from the grey areas of WW2 (partisans, resistance movements, etc).

As redefined in Protocol II, of 1979 even more comprehensive understandings were created.
And notably it's increasingly uncertain whether that's even actually true, per se, because the Convention was absolutely written for a different time and a different place.

It was entirely designed for conflict between peer states who mostly fought in open battle, not modern insurgencies.

it’s cool, overly aggressive federal law enforcement actions in idaho haven’t ever had any negative repercussions
After the FBI denied "children were zip-tied or hit with rubber bullets" in a raid in Wilder, Idaho, the FBI said no "young" children were.

The updated statement came after KIVI-TV sent FBI photo reportedly showing 14-year-old U.S. citizen in zip ties.

I’m sure I *just* heard a podcast or read a post about some movie where they had a rule about not sending PAs to Dan Aykroyd’s dressing room, not because he would do anything troubling, but because he would talk so much that once they went in they would never come back out
Since every comedic actor of a certain age gets a documentary after they die now i think it's important we establish that the dan aykroyd one should be no shorter than 6 hours, one episode of which is entirely dedicated to his relationship to fairies and magic

Looks as if Trump is saying no Democrat will be allowed to win another national election—and he will use the FBI, the DOJ, and the CIA to make sure of that. This is a full-scale attack on American democracy, and every Republican, CEO, and conservative mouthpiece who doesn't object is complicit.
Trump: "We can never let what happened in the 2020 election happen again. We just can't let that happen. I know Kash is working on it, everybody is working on it. And certainly Tulsi is working on it. We can't let that happen again to our country."
