Yeah the thing is, folks, Google would really rather their search work well than it work badly, and the AI overviews are, among other things, an attempt to make it "work well!"

What has happened is SEO was always a red queen competition & Google kept losing ground due to lack of focus on Search.
Ok, I intensely dislike Google’s AI overviews and many of their recent product changes.

But also… I really don’t think you could transplant the old Google search algorithm to today’s Internet and have it do nearly as well. The information environment itself has gotten a lot harder to search.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

What the hell has HAPPENED to the UK?
Trevor Phillips proposes banning "remittances" (ie: imposing currency/exchange controls on international cash transfers by foreign nationals from Britain). He says this would disincentivise immigration, in a Times piece saying the Home Secretary needs to go [much] further

At the risk of wading into the self definition of a group I do not belong to, it seems to me that any definition of queerness that considers sexual or gender identity secondary is a questionable one in any meaningful sense of the word.

This is identical to Russia invading Ukraine. Illegally invading a country for their resources and likely killing thousands—if not more—is immoral and should not be supported by anyone with any shred of moral conscience.

I find the use of "warriors" rather than soldiers somewhat infantilizing.

As if US service members are playing dress up with swords.
This is likely unlawful command influence

Folks are dunking on this but honestly whatever you think of the man he has a point - capitalism did not create oppression, and what we had before capitalism was not freer for the majority of people.

Look up how subsistence peasantry lived, don't compare yourself to nobles or literati.
“Capitalism forces you to wake up at 7am against your body’s natural rhythms” no that’s Taylorism and if you don’t like living in a society that coordinates effort to ensure a better outcome for all then I don’t think you’ll love the alternatives

Ranked Choice would be a great choice for the primaries. It would dramatically boost the odds of a strong non-establishment candidate to win as well as reduce their ability to complain if that candidate loses.

This is a pervasive issue of mine about "evil" settings.

Works depict Evil Land almost inevitably as a carnival of vice and joyful worldliness (because they assume they'll be among the decadent elite &/or protagonists able to take their pleasures by force) and not as a place of misery & hardship.
Basically, and bluntly, Hazbin depicts the difference between Hell and Heaven as that between not *vice and virtue*, but as *worldliness and hedonic pleasure vs innocence.*

It's a rather juvenile sort of mentality really, one that inherently makes Hell more appealing - they fuck there!

Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.

This is the actual core of the problem about how a lot of leftists responded to 10/7.

It's not unreasonable (though poorly timed) to go "this was the tragic result of decades of sectarian violence & oppression." Leftists wanted to go "this is the exhilarating, based result of righteous vengeance."
What you say is something like "the atrocities committed today only highlight the importance of an end to violence and a lasting peace between Israel and an independent state of Palestine."

Bluntly, the problem is that DSA liked that Hamas was killing people; they thought it was a victory.
