Chicago lost one of its best today. RIP Tony Fitzpatrick. I met Tony through Steve Earle, whose LP covers frequently became canvasses for Fitzpatrick's artwork. Jon Langford & Tony collaborated on a tribute to another one-of-a-kind Chicagoan, Lin Brehmer, at the Hideout in 2023 (pic below). (1/2)

Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.

My daughter asked me who I was rooting for between the Red Sox and Yankees. I said it was an impossibly lose-lose choice, but when push comes to shove, I'll always take New York over Boston -- and then the camera cut to this shot.

obviously it depends on the specifics, but I for one am glad that musicians don't get flak anymore for, say, letting their song be used in a toothpaste ad.

On the whole, I think it’s a good thing that the idea of "selling out" has faded. But it’s still jarring to hear someone say so bluntly that the money was what allowed them to set aside their conscience.

Gutted at the news that Kaleb Horton is gone. Kaleb was a brilliant writer, of course, but he was also a gifted photographer. Years ago I encouraged him to sell his pieces. His work was so good, I told him, and people should see it.
