Complete own goal by the republicans. Not a ton of media attention for the first big protest day and now you have the republicans bringing it up and effectively telling the media to cover it

there's a lot of political theory about how every move should be try to dodge and sneak past any and all conflict that positions itself as clever and savvy because that sounds and looks better than "i am afraid of direct conflict"

The consensus among a particular set of people on here seems to be that Israel hated Biden and Harris and undermined them repeatedly so that a Republican would win and that's why the next Democrat should be even more pro-Israel

it's always in my mind that the same people who will come up with a million reasons why the dems can't and shouldn't do (x) will and have flipped on it immediately the moment dems leadership decides to do so. everything is impossible, until leadership changes their mind, then it was inevitable.

Worth emphasizing that Trump's singular trick for facilitating a deal in Israel was just...being publicly frustrated with Netanyahu and threatening to walk. That's not a unique talent, it's just a thing Biden personally and ideologically was unwilling to do. Lowest bar cleared to great relief.

Endlessly annoying to me that this works out better for them than our approach of "we are setting up an exploratory committee to work on a plan to establish a commission to make peace with Glonzo and bring back American manufacturing"

I don't think the Israelis are ready to deal with a US president who's totally unmoored from any deep ideological or religious commitments to anyone or anything.

i mean, the administration needs to deport him somewhere where journalists won't go and where he will die as quickly as possible

So Kilmer Abrego-Garcia will not challenge a deportation to Costa Rica, who has agreed to for him residency, but DHS won’t agree to send him there because it’s not cruel enough.

For weeks, Mr. Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who is married to a U.S. citizen, has made clear that he would not challenge his deportation if he were sent to Costa Rica, which has promised him legal residency and guaranteed that he would not be sent back to El Salvador.

But the Trump administration has refused to deport him to Costa Rica, and in an earlier hearing this week, Judge Xinis pressed the administration to consider the option or clarify why it was unacceptable.
