What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

There are many other ways in which the kids are not all right. Widespread concerns about reading comprehension are valid and threaten democracy in other ways. But in terms of being broadly accepting of racial and sexual diversity, the game's over, and the libs won. 2/2

This is a Cultural Revolution by a class of “wannabe auteurs” against the narratives that emerge from culture itself.

As I wrote earlier this year, it’s the desire to “edit America” like a movie and “fix it in post-production”.

Finding they can’t legislate stories, they’re destroying the library.

The deportation order is based on Vedam’s conviction for murder—a crime he did not actually commit and for which he’s now been wholly exonerated. He entered the US at 9 months old and was a legal permanent resident before his conviction. We are so, so, so far from the light of justice.

The correct response to Republicans widely depicting the coming protests as terrorism is to go out and protest. Each person should get 10 more people to do so. If Republicans are going to hint at violent state responses to legitimate protest, the only answer is bigger numbers.
