This is far from the most important issue here, but the Ontario govt was under no obligation to "seek...permission to use and edit" any recording of Ronald Reagan that is in the U.S. National Archives/Reagan Library, as is the case here. And the Reagan Foundation has *no* relevant role here.

"The ad misrepresents the Presidential Radio Address, and the Government of Ontario did not seek nor receive permission to use and edit the remarks."

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute learned that the Government of Ontario, Canada, created an ad campaign using selective audio and video of President Ronald Reagan delivering his "Radio Address to the Nation on Free and Fair Trade," dated April 25, 1987. The ad misrepresents the Presidential Radio Address, and the Government of Ontario did not seek nor receive permission to use and edit the remarks.

Americans (and friends) are understandably horrified by the brute damage being done to the White House. It feels irreversible. But of all the things that have been destroyed in these past few months I feel that this is the most easily mended.

The Frauenkirche in Dresden, 1945. It was once a magnificent church, now its a pile of rubble with two half destroyed columns at either end.

The Frauenkirche, Dresden 2015. A night shot and the lights of the church and surrounding buildings glow. The church was restored stone by stone and from this photo you would never know that there had been such destruction.

The White House is part of the National Park Service & protected by Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act of 1966.

Don't get me wrong: I do not care about the building. I care that this act states he is above the law & the people. It has the same message as his AI fighter jet shitpost.
