Because of them, my niece decided not to go to UMD and went to Stern College. Now she's a teacher in Israel. I am an Episcopal priest, my brother is an orthodox rabbi, my SIL teaches Judaic studies, and my Jewish family means everything to me.

I would feel strangely better about humankind if I knew that many of these were not coming from willfully ignorant and hateful people. I have heard it from their own mouths too, tho, but not incessantly like on social media.

I know this is bsky, where everything is a war crime, but genocide is the only war crime, but there is, in fact, a whole array of war crimes involving the killing of civilians, even a practice of intentional or reckless killing of civilians, and not all of them are genocide.
