Also films are NOT forever! They also take insane amounts of work to preserve. We have straight up just loss hundreds of films! A lot of early groundbreaking film work is just gone in the wind because archival efforts weren't widespread back in the early 20 century.

It is extremely possible to preserve games. There are hundreds of thousands of people who work tirelessly FOR FREE to make old games playable in the modern era. Their work gets shat on constantly by THE PEOPLE WHO ORIGINALLY MADE THE GAMES
