I am at a festival for a music scene that currently only has one bassist. The festival is in a hilly forest venue and he runs the trails between stages to get to every set, carrying his stand-up bass. People give him beers and snacks as he passes.

Anyway, I have an idea for a new Olympic sport.

IMHO, LLMs will be an economic negative for years.

They'll do a worse job than humans,

but will still replace humans because they're cheaper for employers,

but really they're costlier, it's just that lots of costs get externalized to society by our horrible energy/tax policies.

Lose-lose-lose.

Wer Politik mit der Kernaussage "Die FPÖ hat eigentlich eh vollkommen recht" macht, braucht sich dann echt nicht wundern.

Alternativ könnte man natürlich, eventuell, wenn man wollte und Überzeugungen hätte, einen Gegenentwurf bringen. Weil man von den Blaunen eh sowieso angefeindet wird 🤷‍♀️

Massive escalation at the Portland ICE facility. Worst I’ve ever seen. More pepper balls than I can count. Teargas in the middle of crowd. Violent arrests. Some type of either noise or rubber bullet shotgun fired into the air then later aimed at protesters chests/heads at near point blank range.

I'm perplexed at watching pundits in the trades struggling to explain Tron Ares' disappointing opening.

Was it covid? Do people just not like science fiction? etc. etc.

The main reason is pretty obvious: Tron isn't a popular franchise. Nobody's interested in nostalgia for a failed 1980s project.
