As a person with ADHD, I understand America. The Revolution, Reconstruction, the New Deal, Civil Rights ... I get it. I also have unfinished projects.

I can say this: It's the same old struggle between top-down vs. bottom-up.

"We The People" is fundamentally bottom up, and these guys don't get it.

In my hometown, there is a plaque to commemorate when George Washington came to the tavern (the local gathering hole). Was it to get the folks in the area to join the Revolution? Not as local legend has it. He was there to convince the locals to sit on their hands because they were monarchists.

America, for all its faults, is a "We The People" place.

We should have run all the loyalists out just like we should have completed reconstruction.

a key thing about vought — and all of these guys — is that they have a totally top down and hierarchical vision of the world. they believe that the cultural changes they hate can be turned off by destroying the federal government because they can’t imagine that they emerged bottom-up in society

What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

A student on TikTok has been documenting her journey with a professor who “wrote” the anatomy textbook and it’s all a bunch of AI hallucinations.

She’s saying that, understandably, the students are doing super poorly!

Behold what we’re teaching the healthcare professionals of tomorrow:

A diagram of the bones and (some) deep muscles of the hand and forearm. AI says that we only have four digits. It’s also identified a tendon as the median nerve, another tendon as the ulnar nerve, among other issues.

What i think people are missing is that business instinctively likes fascism. Do not count on business to identify their long term interests as being better served by democracy. They don't think that way. They are betting on the idea that they can figure it out as they go.
