I found a 19th century Cat Villain!
A huge chonk of a fluffy cat sitting on a table near an open fire. The cat is cream and grey and appears to be shaped like a barrel in a fur coat. They are scowling fiercely with their moustache and bewhiskered ears apparently flowing back into the cold wind. There's a definite vibe that this villainous cat twirls their moustache as they evict orphans into the aforementioned blizzard and think Scrooge was an easy-going lightweight. They are magnificent.

It’s not a “humiliation kink” if they’re gloating about and plan in secret rooms about how they’ll put Black women back in their place for YEARS

Though it’s a nice bit of nonsense that yall still can’t recognize it while claiming to be different

I used to worry about face blindness, but I have this experience so often that I've been able to shrug and get on with things 😅

This reminds me of how David Lynch said he wanted to keep working but couldn’t because COVID posed too great a risk & people stopped being willing to mask up to protect others.

Ableism is an insidious evil in society & healthcare. It convinces us to abandon each other for profit & convenience.

Enjoyed the New Yorker interview with Tim Curry, a free-wheeling conversation in which there were several sensitive questions about his paralyzing stroke. But oh my goodness, why was there no follow-up at all to this staggering answer? www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
Screenshot of text from the interview:

You’ve always been an incredibly physical performer: your strut during “Sweet Transvestite” in “Rocky Horror,” or the way you run around unfurling the mystery at the end of “Clue.” Do you still feel that in your body? Does that live somewhere in you still?

I think it does, but it’s angry. My mobility is angry to get out. But it’s not happened yet. I do a certain amount of physical therapy. I did a whole bunch of it at Cedars-Sinai, and I got very close, I think, to walking. That was tantalizing. For insurance reasons, I had to withdraw. And I have a visiting physical therapist now, but I can only really do exercises from my bed, which is pretty pathetic. It’s not going to get me walking, I don’t believe.

[I have underlined the sentence "For insurance reasons, I had to withdraw."]

Whistling when ICE is about to kidnap someone for no reason is incredibly effective. They know what they are doing is wrong and will scatter in the wind when too many witnesses gather.

I had to look at the credits to learn this is a photo of Jennifer Lopez. I guess I haven't seen her in a while and she looks so different.

‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ earned $840,000 in its opening weekend.

The film had a $34 million dollar budget.

I'm afraid so. Swim goggles can be pretty snug, and anything pressing on them provides very local effects, thanks to their being pretty close to eye size and not a heck of a lot bigger.

There's a reason why the USMS site has info on wearing them the right way: www.usms.org/en/fitness-a...
How to Minimize the Effects of Goggle Eyes
When you get out of the pool after a good swim workout you probably take two things with you: a wonderful swimmer’s high and a serious pair of goggle eyes. Goggle eyes, in case you’re one of the lucky...

Until recently, I've known more of my homeless neighbors--who'd all grown up in this part of California--by name than I have people living in my building.

Don't forget that your homeless neighbors, the people living in the streets & out of their cars around you that you see every day, are part of your real world community.

We want to create a collective archive from Palestinians and helpers here who are being silenced. We have essential testimonies, photos, videos, letters, stories, that we can protect and that will be of use in future trials. Because Palestine will be free! Express your interest or drop ideas here.

One of the nastiest things from these nasty pieces of work has been the lie that kidlit creatives, teachers & librarians are somehow grooming kids.

Statistically, a parent, guardian, or other relative is more likely to be the perpetrator: www.nationalchildrensalliance.org/media-room/n...

This is above my sewing and attention capabilities, but I might have to try making a compressionless binder anyway. The bespoke ones are costly--which is appropriate, considering how much work they take to make.
