Good morning, by the way.

Finishing one of these puzzles without any mistakes is so satisfying. Conversely, every mistake is so frustrating.

My wife just said Lady Elaine Fairchilde looks like Murder She Wrote The Puppet. I am survived by her and my two lovely children. I am deceased.
The Lady Elaine puppet from the neighborhood of make-believe. Boomerang tumerang sumerang! Angela Lansbury in an episode of Murder She Wrote, sort of holding her arms in a puppet sort of way.

that johnson is more terrified of seating a duly elected democrat who could force an epstein vote than having the entire government shut down really makes me wonder about that epstein vote tbh

Seems unlikely that Trump will ever hear about this, considering how tightly his handlers seem to be controlling what information he has access to.

His slip of the tongue reveals who’s really in charge. trib.al/mIvP0yE

“Illinois governor says we’re provoking actions that are unlawful,” Miller said on CNN. “If I put federal law enforcement and National Guard into a nice sleepy Southern town, is anyone gonna riot?”

also a sign of how far trump has checked out-there is zero chance in the old days he would countenance anyone else taking credit, even in a slip of the tongue

In video games, you will often find a fully roasted chicken abandoned on the ground, and eating it extremely quickly makes you feel better. What's less known is that this is also true in real life

Sometimes when I am trying to use up what’s in the fridge, I add some beans and boiled potatoes and a little beef broth to some leftover birria and call it a night. Anyway, good evening.

But I don’t think moderation gets us where we need to go. I think we need radical change, but that has to be led with both creativity, imagination, elasticity, and with the kind of wisdom and practicality that comes from experience.
sakeriver.com
I suppose all this could read as some sort of plea for moderation, and maybe in some sense it is? And maybe that’s because I’m middle-aged.

And in both cases, the worst offenders are so sure of their own rightness. They can’t see the value of the other kind of intelligence.
sakeriver.com
On the other hand, the whole “move fast, break stuff” mentality that comes to us out of Silicon Valley tech culture has also brought a number of social and economic problems, and I’d say that’s a result of out of control elasticity not being reined in by experience.
sakeriver.com
The OP points out a lack of imagination among journalists and politicians, which I think is a result of our politics and political discourse being dominated by experienced people who lack elasticity.
sakeriver.com
I think problems arise when power becomes vested too strongly in people who have one but not the other. And actually I think we see examples of both playing out in our social and political and economic landscapes today.
sakeriver.com
The point isn’t to say that elastic intelligence is better than crystallized intelligence, or vice versa. But rather to recognize that there’s value to each, and it’s important to recognize the limitations of each.
sakeriver.com
And I’m sure all of that varies between individuals. I’ve certainly known older people who were still elastic in their thinking, and young people who had experience and knowledge. It’s not good to be ageist.
sakeriver.com
I may be getting the exact terms wrong but the gist was that when you’re young you’re more able to figure out new ideas but you don’t know much. And when you’re old you have a broad base of knowledge but you’re less able to figure out new things.
sakeriver.com
I remember shortly before that conversation with my mom, reading some pop science article saying something like young people have elastic intelligence while old people have crystallized intelligence.
