Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Must have a very shallow keel to be anchored there

I need to see these arrests! Are they on tape???

No, they don't get it. And they won't until and unless they're in custody for extended periods of time, or really physically harmed with no recourse. They think they're "good", and "better" ~ they're not, they're fodder just like everyone else.

MAGA counter protesters are now getting angry because ICE is arresting them too and they’re slowly realizing they’re also being arrested for doing nothing.

Do they get it yet though? Prob not.

I want to be on a grand jury. It would be great to be in a position to actually tell these mf'ers "no."

I second this. The last jury I served on, I had the honor of being the foreman in a DUI trial that involved a terrible CHP officer. Horrible, lazy investigative skills. Couldn’t believe the DA brought the case to trial. Ended up with a locked jury (8 to 4, not guilty). Judge dismissed the charges.

Yes and also: take part in public protests, attend city council meetings and town hall meetings and school board meetings. Democracy requires citizen participation at every level.

I was on my second jury last week. We convicted a guy soliciting a 14 year old girl for sex on Facebook. It was actually a decoy acct created by our local police. He went to meet her and met the cops…

Also: Get trained and serve as a poll worker. I've done it for years and we always need new people. I spend election day resolving issues like name or address changes, database errors, ID issues, provisional ballots -- and reassuring people we want every eligible voter to be able to vote.

For text-oriented people, there's the Wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jury_nu...
There will be cases coming up where the facts don't support a guilty verdict anyway.

For starters, you should do it and post it here and on other social media sites. I bet it would go viral. Do you start with William Penn's case?

Definitely. Would I be disbarred for setting up a GoFundMe to buy a 2-minute Super Bowl ad to teach about jury nullification, preferably hiring the South Park guys to handle the Schoolhouse Rock animation?

All you peacenik liberals wringing hands over what to do: Yes, of course, vote. It's your primary responsibility as a citizen.

But now more than ever, fulfill your second civic responsibility: Serve on juries. Never has it been more imperative to thwart rogue injustice.

Seriously, Judges *do no do things like this*

They don't give their opinion to the media

They don't criticize how SCOTUS works

This is them breaking the emergency glass, folks

A bigger problem might be I've seen this same behavior in ERs from professionals. Do people really think it is a simple choice? Even if it was (IT'S NOT), that is a hurting human who never wished for this! Don't know? DON'T JUDGE.

Are they saying that if it was a drug overdose, the policy is to let someone die? Foaming at the mouth and soaked in his own urine, they left him there because they thought it was “his fault”. This is unconscionable.

I can't get over that they went through with their bullshit drug intoxication training when an EMT on their first shift could detect signs of a major stroke.
