About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

It was easy to get my Covid shot at Walgreens here in TN. I scheduled and filled out the paperwork online. No in-person questions, no cost. There were other under-65s there for it, and the tech was offering it to anyone around.

This is a deeply upsetting story. As if the Rohingya people have not suffered enough due to an attempted genocide that killed tens of thousands, sent 700,000 fleeing, and imprisoned 145,000 in camps, the withdrawal of US aid is now starving the survivors and children are dying.

We’ve taught people that public health institutions are run by politics and business and are untrustworthy, that safety for the public good is for suckers, and that anyone wanting changes to grapple with how badly we handled Covid is “living in 2020.” It’s hard to imagine how we could’ve done worse.

I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America
