a fascinating writeup on the making of a set of widely distributed IDF propaganda videos, specifically identifying assets they used. there's something incredibly unsettling about the creative ethos here. stolen assets. no actual intelligence information at all. just hubris and pure fabrication.

In one, a child pleads with their parents for bail money. In another, a woman tells the local news she’s going home after trying to vote because her polling place was shut down. In a third, Sam Altman tells a room that he can no longer keep Open AI afloat because the copyright cases have become too much to handle. All of the videos looked real. None of them have a watermark.

Personally I think it's great that my company's HR sends out an official looking tool where they even ask you to pre-populate your healthcare providers and instead of being the actual insurance enrollment process it's just some bullshit checklist to try and convince me I actually don't want a PPO

So much to mourn here. ICE shot and killed a single father just after he has dropped his two kids off at daycare. Their justification for stopping him was traffic violations form 12 years ago. Their justification for shooting him was that he was driving away.

A completely needless tragedy.

ICE lied about the person it shot, claiming he was a "criminal," but NBC finds that he had no criminal history whatsoever. Not even traffic tickets in 12 years! It also lied about the extent of the injuries to its agents....
